Many people drive a car everyday and it is usually an automatic. Not many people today know how or want to drive a manual. With many automatic cars being sold the most there are hardly any manual cars. Learning to drive a manual can be difficult, but luckily I will tell you how you can drive one and before I do that I will tell you why it is good to learn. I will also tell you why it is becoming rare to see someone drive a manual. Some of the problems that exists with the reason not wanting to drive or own a manual is that they do not know how to drive one. They also think that it takes a lot of time learning it which most people do not have have. Another reason is that they want to be on there phones while driving and when driving a manual you can not really do that as much which is good. The existing problem with not knowing how to drive a manual is that many cars are being made as an automatic which does all the work for you basically. The automatic cars do all the shifting for you, so all you mostly have to do is press the gas which is not very exciting. Time is another problem. When you learn it you can tell others that you know how to drive a manual. Also knowing how to drive a manual allows you to drive pretty much any other cars out there. It may be odd, but there could be a situation where you end up needing to drive a manual and although that can be rare, it is nice to not have to worry about it if it ever does happen. Power and control are objects every human seeks. The car has given the average man control over his environment to a degree not accessible anywhere else in his daily routine. The automobile provides something that individuals can be comfortable in, own and slowly master. The driver has complete control over his/her speed, a speed greater than one they could achieve on their own. They have power over the temperature in the car, how there seat is adjusted and what music they listen to. This constant control gives the driver a sense of security.
I have been wanting to drive because it will be one of the most useful life skills after I graduate from high school. To me, being able to drive means to have a convenient, interesting life, and being a helpful person. My life will be more convenient when I can drive by myself.
