He is one of the most iconic revolutionaries in black history. His name was el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz, or better known as Malcolm X. Malcolm X is a African American human rights activist who impacted many races who were dealing with human inequality. In order for him to open up the mind of others he had to give everyone the ugly truth and not the rose colored version. Malcolm X wanted to see change by any means necessary. Meaning that he’s willing to do anything to make a positive change in society.
On November 10th, 1963 Malcolm x released a speech called “Message to the Grassroots”. He had opened up the minds of all Africans and other nationalities. During this speech he gave everyone around him the ugly truth about America. In message to the grassroots speech Malcolm states “You are ex-slaves. You didn’t come here on the “Mayflower.” You came here on a slave ship — in chains, like a horse, or a cow, or a chicken”.The purpose to saying this was to show that the white man had brought us to america by force and not by choice. Redemption was key for Mr. X . Malcolm was not perfect. He made it seem as if all white people were the devils making. Doing this he became a separatist to help the black community. Later on he noticed that was not a way for life. In 1964 he went on a pilgrimage that changed his perspective.
