Stronger Than Fear
What makes a hero? Is it strength, or virtue, or honesty? I believe the ideal hero for the upcoming generation needs to be somebody who is an advocate for them; somebody who not only stands up for what is right, but is also incredibly generous, and deals with opposition gracefully. Malala Yousafzai embodies these traits, and is a true role model for children. She is a passionate advocate for young people all over the world, as well as tastefully dealing with and responding to opposition. On top of all of that, she is a charitable person, who gives to those in need. I believe that this is what makes a hero, and that Malala should be the next generations Superman/Clark Kent, or rather Superwoman/Lois Lane. Although, unlike her comic book …show more content…

She has her own non profit charity, the Malala fund, which donates to causes that reflect Malala’s views. Recently, she has responded to the crisis in Nigeria where over 200 girls were kidnapped by Boko Haram for attending school (“Malala”). She is set to donate the proceeds of a portrait of her doing her homework, painted by Jonathan Yeo, which has a presale value of $60,000 to $80,000 (“Malala”). She actively participates in making her goal of education for all come true by donating to the cause and encouraging others to do so as well. Heroes are there to help the world in whatever ways they can, and Malala’s generosity is a simple example of how heroic she is. Children need a hero who can show them to give back to their community, and Malala is an amazing example of giving back to her community, as she qualifies her community to be all children and women. Many children tend towards selfishness, and Malala can show them that they are part of a larger world that they need to give back to. Learning generosity is something all children need to do, and a role model like Malala can show them how rewarding and beneficial it is to do
