There are many villains in the world. Whether it is a comic book villain to a movie villain, villains have been around for a long time. Magneto is the toughest villain in the series X-Men. Lex Luthor is none other than Superman’s arch-nemesis. Norman Osborn, a.k.a. the Green Goblin, is Spider Man's arch-enemy. Each one of these villains have completely different origin stories. Although they have different backgrounds, they are all evildoers. Magneto’s origin is shady from the start. Magneto actually works with the X-Men before he changes to the dark side. One day Magneto realizes that he has different ideas than Professor Charles Xavier, head of the X-Men, and decides he is better off against the X-Men. Comic Vine stated that Magneto turns evil after a battle with Professor X, “Following the battle, Charles and Magnus realized they had very differing ideologies. Magnus disappeared and the two friends would not meet again for many years.” (1). After many years, Magneto decides to return and he declares war on all humans. During his time in Smallville Luthor becomes increasingly jealous of Superman. His act of jealousy is characterized when “he encountered Clark Kent and first became jealous of Superman” (ComicVine 2). A few years later Luthor returns to the world under the name Lex Luthor. Luthor becomes a power hungry criminal mastermind that tries anything he can to take over the world. He sets out to start wars all over the world so he can sell weapons to make a profit. Luthor, being the genius that he is, waits for the right opportunity to strike. He then starts to take over countries. Lex Luthor sets out to achieve world
