The Secret Qualities of a mere Prince Hundreds of years ago, most countries were ruled by powerful Kings. Each country side or realm was led by ruler. Some of those rulers were molded to be great Kings. Those great rulers held qualities to over throw or conquer other kingdoms surrounding their realm. Each King would strive to create a direct heir to their thrown, have an heir, should the King expire or die in battle. For a King to create a prince to his thrown, he would teach the prince to have the qualities of his King so that he may continue to rule as the previous King did or better if the King taught by experience. “I say that all men, when they are spoken of, and particularly princes, since they are placed on higher level, are judges by some of these qualities which bring them either blame or praise.” (478, par. 2) Machivelli speaks of how a prince should view himself, and know his prestige position. It will be constant judgmental people of the prince; therefore, a prince should always carry himself to a certain classy demeanor. He is a member of royalty and the way that people view him should never be a manner of low esteem. The demanding position that he holds is for a path of greatness, due to his role he should always be hated or loved. One of the greatest qualities of a prince is the way that he carries himself.
