If his son and wife left him, Chris would have no motivation left. Family means a great deal to him, whether on good terms or not. Although Chris works hard in order to provide for his family, he also shows that he has loyalty for his job as well. His hard-working demeanor and positive attitude make for a great worker and it shows throughout his internship. If Chris lacked devotion to his son and job, he would not feel love from his son nor possess a job to support him.
