Look Mickey represent the first key scene and style of Lichtenstein's oil canvas piece in the 1960s. This shows how he incorporates comic strips on his artwork. Your eyes go straight to Mickey as he is wearing vibrant red shoes and t-shirt. In this image mickey mouse and Donald duck are standing on the poet with their fishing pole. This funny scenario shows both these characters with different positions. Donald has raised his pole above his head and caught his dark blue coat. Mickey, however, is giggling at his friend. The cubism movement started in 1908 and was the first abstract style. This movement was popular during the early 20th century and largely ignored perspective and shows all of the possible viewpoints of a person or object. Cubism is where you can take an image of a person, object or nature and broken down into pieces then places in a different point of views by changing the perspective of the shapes. However, pop art, which uses bold colours and tones to make comic books, advertising and dull cultural object. But then there is Impressionism which is painting your outside surroundings using a neutral colour palette. Similarities between pop art and cubism is that both of these movements have challenged or reacted to the influential notion of what other paintings should look like in other movements in the past. They also use simple objects to create a piece of art. Pop art and impressionism use a similar marking technique. Impressionism use pointillism, which are small solid dots drawn by hand. Pop art use ben-day dot, which is small coloured dots evenly applied by machine or stencil. I do believe that cubism and pop art will both survive as a movement in the future.
