Little Caesar Essay
In the movie Little Caesar the plot is based on the rise and fall of crime lord Rico Bandello (played by Edward Robinson), and his friend Joe who eventually wants to leave the business in crime.
The movie starts with a slow shot of a gas station. A car drives up, and the cashier working there is shoved in the store as three gunshots ring out. It then goes to a shot of Rico and Joe in a diner talking about a successful gangster named Pete Montana. They decide to move to the city. There, Rico wants to be like Pete, and Joe wants find a girl he loves and be a dancer after his time with the gang. Rico doesn’t like this idea of Joe’s and dismisses it saying tit wasn’t important.
Rico gets started immediately and joins Sam Vettori’s gang and Joe gets a job as a dancer at a place called the Bronze Peacock. There Joe and his dance partner fall in love and passionately hug. However she finds his gun and asks him to leave his criminal life behind, he tells her that he wouldn’t be able to get away with it. The next scene is placed at the gangster Arnie Lorch’s gambling house where Sam Vettori and Rico are meeting Pete Montana. The gangsters discuss business and say that the next hit has to have no killing. Montana tells Rico this and tells him to take it easy with his gun.
As the gang plans the robbery of the Bronze Peacock, Rico gets gets very ambitious. When Joe is late and finds out that the Bronze Peacock is going to be robbed he begs Rico to let him out. This pisses off Rico and he replies to Joe saying that he will be in on the robbery and will like it. When the robbery takes place Joe does his job and it is successful. ...nd men after them and they kill Rico’s man. He takes refuge in a old ladies home where he had hidden ten thousand dollars. But the lady makes a deal with him saying he can only stay if he gives her all but $150 of it.
Months have passed and Rico’s career has been destroyed. He sleeps in a extremely cheap hotel and has started drinking a lot He becomes angered when they read out that that the police detective called him a coward. He soon calls the police and is found when they trace the call back to him. The detective discovers him on a street and shoots and kills him through a billboard, which ironically was advertising Joe and Olgas dancing.
Throughout the story Rico was successful but at the end he loses, whereas Joe and Olga live happily and earn an honest living doing what they love. One of the morals of the story is that crime pays -- but not for very long.
Bill goes to trial for the death of Mary and they sentence him guilty. Mary’s mom cried after the verdict was announced. Ralph hears the news about Bill and he begins to break down and feels guilty, he keeps saying that he needs to see Jack. Ralph finally sees Jack and beats him up, which finally escalates till Mae to call the police. The drug raid was busted and all the people involved in the operation were arrested. Blanche tells the police what really happened, that Bill was framed by Ralph and it was all their faults. Bill got off of trail because there was new evidence that corroborated his innocence. Blanche then jumps out of the window right before she was going to either be prosecuted for accessory to murder or going to be used as a suspect against Ralph. Before she actually jumped she reminisced about how she affected and basically ruined Bill’s life since he cheated on her then got his girlfriend killed. Then Ralph is put through a mental institution because they believed he had to be crazy to act the way he did. A hit was put out on Taylor and Zavala by leaders of the Mexican drug cartel because they were becoming a nuisance. This hit was carried out by the same Latino gang members who had previously done a drive-by shooting of a rival gang. The officers were enticed towards their imminent deaths with a car chase which was set up by the Latino gang members. This chase led them towards an apartment complex which was rigged with many gang members and artillery to ensure that neither Taylor nor Zavala would survive. The two were ambushed but decided that gunning their way out was their best option. When the officers made it to an alley they were met by another Latino gang member who fired at Taylor and Zavala, hitting Taylor once in the chest before being shot and killed by Zavala. They end up at the parking lot of a store and they sleep in the minivan and the boat for the night and they accidently lock the keys in the van and their dad uses a fishing rod to try to grab the keys when that failed they lowered Manny into the van and he goes straight for Greg’s duffle bag where he had a pack of oreos and then he went to the driver seat turned the car and turned on his favorite radio station and then he puts the car in drive at first they did not realize that he had been trying to escape to go get his pig from the petting
Dodger was being sent off to Australia, he got caught for stealing. Fagin freaked out, he was thinking that Dodger would rat them out and it would be over for them. Soon after Fagin got the news, Monks showed up… He wanted Charley out of the room. He was about to tell him what Nancy did. Bill flipped out, thinking that she turned against him. He went to go find Nancy. On the way to find her, everyone got out of his way; nobody wanted his attention. He asked everyone if they have seen her and they all said “no.” Then, Bill found Nancy… Seconds later there was a loud scream. Everyone ran to see what happened and saw Nancy’s lifeless body with Bill running away. People chased after Bill, he went to Fagin’s place asking for money to get away.

Caesar advocated mercy for Catiline and the conspirators, thereby increasing the enmity of the senatorial party and its leaders, Cato the Younger and Quintus Lutatius Catulus.
The film “Goodfellas,” directed by Martin Scorsese, is loosely based on the true story of mobster Henry Hill’s career with the mafia. The main characters in this movie are Henry Hill, played by Ray Liota, who was part of the mafia, James Conway who was a stickup/hit man, played by Robert De Niro, and Tommy DeVito, played by Joe Pesci, who was another gangster. At the beginning of the film a young Hill is seen admiring the gangsters who spend time across the street at one of their establishments. Hill can be heard talking about how much he admired gangsters, and that all he ever wanted to be was a gangster. Throughout the movie the audience gets a sense of what life as a gangster in the criminal underworld might have been like.
Gangster films have always operated on but rarely explored the paradox of mob life. Gangs are created in order to rebel from society and its institutions, yet they themselves act like micro-governments. Most films have illustrated these institutions through the depictions of their protagonists, like “Goodfellas” Henry Hill. Gomorrah, however, exists in this paradox; its multiple story lines act as a medium for depicting the structure of the mob in a different way. Gomorrah, unlike most gangster films, explores the hierarchy of the mob. How the establishment itself rather than the rebellion towards the establishment makes the gears of the mob keep turning.
The T.V. starts flashing, a red banner with the word ‘urgent’, a woman's voice starts talking. “This is a PSA for the town of Lassellsville and surrounding areas. There is said to be a strange man on a rampage running through the town, he is believed to be infected with a new virus called H1N1, please stay inside for your safety, we will keep you updated as much as possible. Police are on the lookout for Juan Carlos Jr.,” a picture of a Hispanic man with red eyes, dark brown hair, and missing teeth popped up on the t.v. “please if you see this man refrain from contact, he is dangerous, I repeat he is dangerous.” Everyone looked at each other, “oh god” John said. “Lock the doors,” Katherine said. So they locked the doors and kept the news on to keep updated. A few hours past and the fear subsided and so did any buzz they had gotten. The news comes back on and they still hadn't found the guy when all of a sudden the tv went off and so did the lights. If you touch a butterfly's wing it will die. Just like how stabbing somebody 23 times will kill them. This is exactly what happened to Julius Caesar so many years ago when he was on his way to senate with some “friends”. These friends of Caesar's thought it was necessary to murder him because he was ambitious and they feared him and what he would do once he had complete control. It was their belief that Caesar would begin acting in favor of himself instead of the people of Rome. What they thought was not true however and Caesar did not deserve to be murdered.
The school's undercover narcotics officer, Randy, was killed in the faculty parking lot. A car pulled up, and a black tinted window rolled down. The passenger in the back seat shot him once in the head with a handgun, then the car sped away. Randy was killed instantly, and the people in the car were never caught.
In conclusion, from my perspective, the movie is presented in the middle 70’s, showing a portrayal of a City of New York overcrowded. The violence presented is the primary ingredient, drugs, betrayals and murderers are also included in this film that shows the city from a perspective of the streets and the world of the mafia, probably something that happened in those days and remains part of an unseen
Two gangs, the Sharks and the Jets, are in the middle of a turf war. However, two people, one from each side, fall in love. In a plot that is as Shakespearian as it gets, many of the characters die over pointless ends, all the time the love of Maria and Tony blossoms, but even Tony can’t escape the cruel fate, and is killed.
The tale is about Clay Carter, a 31 year-old lawyer who lives in D.C. and works as a public defender. Clay takes the job of defending Tequila Watson, a black kid who shot his friend called Pumpkin and can't remember why. Although representing the “little guy” is a worthless case, he takes the case because nobody wanted it, and he needs money.
Joe is a character who shows complete goodness. He is kind hearted and gentle. His generosity and forgiveness is demonstrated countless times in the story. When the escaped convict speaks about the food he stole from Joe and asks his forgiveness, Joe's response is not one of anger.
