It was study in which a loud noise, like a loud bang on a bar, happened behind Little Albert, when he was given some type of small furry object or other objects. This was also the issue that often got covered up the most with “he/she is just a bad kid.” Like what was mentioned before, no kid is a bad kid. However, because the behavioral problems are what normally catches everybody’s eyes its normally what is caught first. Then you have the learning and emotional problems. Many people will often say that the child is slow or that they are sensitive, but many times there is so much more to the problem. In the short story “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?” written by Joyce Carol Oats, the writer includes a very interesting character. One of the main characters, Arnold Friend, is a dynamic character due to the sudden changes of this physical appearance and personality. Albert Henry Desalvo was born on September 3, 1931 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, to Frank Desalvo and Charlotte. Desalvo was the third of six children. Desalvo father was an aggressive, violent, alcoholic fisherman from Newfoundland, Canada. Desalvo father would brutally beat up his wife and children with fists, belts, and pipes. When Charlotte was out of the house, Desalvo father brought prostitutes home and had sexual intercourse with them in front of the children. Over the past several hundred years, our society has transitioned from an oral communicating world to a mostly literate culture. Only recently have we been exposed to the phenomenon of communication that utilizes both orality and literacy, better known to us as social media. With help from Walter Ong’s vast research, we are able to explore social media as a form of communicating and disseminating information. Ong’s thoughts of our embrace of a written-based society, coupled with our long history of orality, can help to explain the blending of both of these concepts under the umbrella of social media – the central communication tool of ideas, thoughts, and information in our modern world. The Little Albert experiment has become a widely known case study that is continuously discussed by a large number of psychology professionals. In 1920, behaviorist John Watson and his assistant Rosalie Rayner began to conduct one of the first experiments done with a child. Stability played a major factor in choosing Albert for this case study, as Watson wanted to ensure that they would do as little harm as possible during the experiment. Watson’s method of choice for this experiment was to use principles of classic conditioning to create a stimulus in children that would result in fear. Since Watson wanted to condition Albert, a variety of objects were used that would otherwise not scare him. These objects included a white rat, blocks, a rabbit, a dog, a fur coat, wool, and a Santa Claus mask. Albert’s conditioning began with a series of emotional tests that became part of a routine in which Watson and Rayner were determining whether other stimuli’s could cause fear.

Albert Ellis, was born in Pittsburgh on September 27, 1913, and raised in New York City. Growing up, had an emotionally distant relationship with his parents, Ellis often described himself as being a "semi-orphan," this because his father spent very little time with Ellis and his family due to constant traveling. His mother was unprepared to raise children because she was self-centered and struggled with being bipolar, which left Ellis feeling as though he had to raise both his mother and siblings.
