Life Orientation: Introduction My topic is an investigation into the general perception and stance of teenagers between 17 – 18 years old, regarding the way male and female sexuality is viewed by society and to determine the impact of these perceptions on the individual and society as a whole. The study will be conducted using Thomas More Pupils. I hypothesise that male and female sexuality is not be regarded equally at the moment as male sexuality is regarded as natural and a healthy part of growing up while female sexuality is taboo except in the case of child birth. Hopefully by making people aware of the gap in equality of sexuality it will transcend into other spheres of sexism and everyday discrimination. ‘Slut-shaming’ can become a thing of the past as women’s bodies will no longer be viewed solely as sexual objects. Female rape victims will not be accused of ‘asking for it’ as it becomes clear that women are entitled to casual sex but that does not make them ‘easy’ or ‘sluts’ as they are allowed to express their sexuality as they choose, but no will still mean no. And many other everyday examples of sexism will fall away due to the enlightenment on the attitude of female sexuality and hopefully this will cause a ripple effect with our generation through social media. The limitations that my topic has is that I cannot ask students to disclose their sexual habits however I can overcome this by using their general attitude toward the subject. Some may not properly understand the ‘sexuality’ I am talking about however I will make sure I am available to answer any questions and I will explain the questions fully and simply. The target market has also been limited to 16 – 18 year olds to avoid asking the younger children who do not understand the concept I am researching and to make my data collecting
