I was always very fond of libraries growing. Regardless of If the weather was nice to go out to play or if it was unbearable, I would still rather be at the library than any other place. Libraries in my neighborhood were just a short walking distance and had events that were quite meaningful for me. People have yet to realize that libraries are constantly remolding to fit the future. There would be henna design contest for young teens who want to dabble in the arts, or early learning classes like toddlers for learning, and ESL classes for older adults who are learning english. I always knew that being literate was amazing. Most children around the world weren’t ever even given the chance to become literate. Knowing I had family members similar to my age not having access to libraries anywhere close to them, pushed me to utilize it even more. In the early decades of America, founding father Benjamin Franklin , “.. founded the first public lending library in the 1730’s..” (Source A). LIbraries also have many other resources besides books to help people gain knowledge. Libraries were always the place to go if you needed tutoring. I remember being completely loss in my middle school math class but I was always had assurance that the tutors at my local libraries would always help me. I never really had a ride to pick me up from school if I stayed for their homework help program because my school would always be too far for my heavily pregnant mom to pick me up, so I would always attend my short-walking distance library for …show more content…

For kids who don’t have access to lunch in the summer, libraries offer summer food services. For immigrants who want to become fluent in English, some libraries offer ESL classes. Some libraries take children who otherwise would otherwise be bored at home, on field trips to the city. In some communities, the library is probably the only place for kids to feel safe. “Without libraries, the division would be even greater.” (Source C).
