The pristine 1933 King Kong was constructed as a movie: to convey a story to entertain an audience. Peter Jackson’s 2005 remake took the substructure for King Kong and expanded upon it in virtually every way in order to “make again” the astoundment of the original for a modern-day audience. Audiences received the first King Kong very well. The stop-motion sequences of Kong were astounding for their time and the movie grossed over $90,000 in its beginning weekend. In order to bank upon its prosperity again, sequels were made and thus in 1976 a remake was made to amend upon the original. Paramount updated the movie to color, altered the story, and cast Jeff Bridges, a widely popular actor of the time, as the lead actor. Although the movie received stirred reviews, it did exceptionally well in the box office and tripled Paramount’s initial budget for the motion picture. Even though the movie wasn’t “as good” as the original, audiences still paid money to view it because of that hope that they would feel like they once did when they visually perceived the first King Kong. The remake add...
Branagh has been very careful when creating this movie, and because of it, the movie has said to be a movie that virtually matches the original novel, creating the same types of atmospheres and adrenaline rush to both the viewer and reader. Kenneth Branagh has directed a wide range of movies, featuring Love's Labour's Lost (2000), Hamlet (1996), A Midwinter's Tale (1996) and Much Ado About Nothing (1993). Branagh has also made a name for himself acting, in movies like Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, How to Kill Your Neighbour's Dog, Rabbit-Proof Fence, Galapagos, Chicken Run/The Road to El Dorado's and Love's Labour's Lost. Branagh also played as Victor Frankenstein himself.
Overall R.F Simeon I believe showed the worst performance. His scenes in the film were very uninteresting and predictable. Once you see this iconic film you'll understand what I
Audience, I’ve come to bargain. Doctor Strange is one of the greatest superhero movies of all time. Sporting a stellar cast, remarkable visual effects and a fast-paced, action-packed story, Doctor Strange has all of the tools for a successful movie. The title role of Stephen Strange is portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch, mostly well known for portraying Sherlock Holmes in the BBC series Sherlock, and Khan Noonien-Singh in the movie Star Trek: Into Darkness.
The casting of both Leonardo DiCaprio and fresh-faced Claire Danes influence how the film is viewed. Baz Luhrmann is smart in using young, attractive characters to make the adaptation more appealing to a more adolescent
You could tell he was truly afraid of what John Shooter was going to do. The acting done by John Turturro, while effective, gave a different feel. His character, John Shooter, was the antagonist for most of this film. John Shooter adds the mystery aspect to the film. He suddenly appears without warning, unsettling our point of few character, in
the film have been cast as parts. It worked well for the film, but I
Predictably, events spin out of control as Bruce is overwhelmed by prayers (received in the form of e-mails), and he manages to lose the only woman who had ever truly cared for him. It’s easy to wonder what caring and compassionate Jane sees in the somewhat narcissistic and negative Bruce, but Jennifer Aniston pulls off the role beautifully, with an ease that assures her movie career will continue to thrive. Of course, Carrey provides the life force of the movie, and it is his inimitable physical humor and impeccable comedic timing which save a script bordering on cheesy and overdone.
To start to picture the film, I began to think of the actors I would choose to portray the main characters of the movie. I pictured Kit as a rather frail, pretty, blonde character perhaps played by Gwyneth Paltrow. Port should be played by an actor who can generate a sense of strength and independence as shown by the character in the book. He should be a masculine individual, but definitely have a quiet, introspective side. I would like to see Harrison Ford or a similar actor play this part. Tunner should be portrayed with the right mix of good looks and charm combined with a devious underlying air which causes one to question his motives. Perhaps an actor such as Hank Azaria would be a good Tunner.
The movie adaptation of the story, in my opinion, was masterfully executed with small discrepancies between the original story and the adaptation. Moreover, casting Heath Ledger as Ennis Del Mar and Jake Gyllenhaal as Jack Twist, was a spot on choice, for these two actors were experienced enough to play out such complex and controversial characters. In Proulx’s story, Ennis is characterized as a man of few words but with a strong sense of duty and responsibility, as he is hard working, yet he is much conserved due to his upbringing in a conservative setting of Wyoming and Heath Ledger deftly plays that role with ease and fluidity. Heath Ledger’s large stature coupled with his low toned voice perfectly expresses the traits of the Ennis without words just by the presentation of the actor.
... that you see this action filled thriller. Liam Neeson’s portrayal of Bryan Mills was courageous and inspiring. Only a father’s love could drive a man as far as he went to save his only daughter.
Along the way, an exploration group arrives from England, giving Tarzan the first chance of meeting humans and the difficult choice of who to choose between. Overall, I enjoyed this musical. While I did have problems throughout watching, the way Tarzan was put altogether, the effort shown, how the story was conveyed by the cast was what drove me to like this musical. In fact, although I’ve seen numerous high school plays, Tarzan was the first high school musical I’ve ever seen, and I believe it’s safe to say that I’m happy with that. Looking back, if the cast in Tarzan were any different than what it was, I don’t think I would’ve liked this show as much as I do.
