Introduction…

What is one of the oldest professions in the world and racks in 186 billion dollars a year worldwide? Prostitution. Prostitution has been legal in Nevada since the 1800s but in 1937 NV decided to regulate it and have weekly health checks. Later, in 1986 they made a law where they must use condoms during sexual activity.

I believe prostitution should be legalized because it wont go away, so why don’t we just make it better? We must regulate it and make sure immoral prostitution rings are shut down. She also claims she files her taxes. She doesn’t keep every penny she’s given 50% of what she makes goes to the brothel itself. However, a typical worker makes up to $100,000 in one month.
14.6 billion dollars are spent on prostitutes in the US. Making this profession legal could bring in more money to our country. We could tax brothels heavily to bring in more tax revenue. Nevada is trying to legalize taxing brothels. If this law was passed the tax revenue generated by brothels would be up to $20 million dollars. If we legalized it countrywide just imagine how much the tax revenue would be then. This could help education, healthcare, homeless shelters, and many other things.
