Why we should Legalize Medical Marijuana According to Kathleen Barnes on an article she wrote about the ten reasons why marijuana should be legalized for medical use, the legalization of recreational marijuana, have been subjects of deep controversy in the United States for many years. Already 20 of the 50 states have legalized medical marijuana because of the strong positive effects it has had on people with many different illnesses. I believe the drug should be open for medical use to better assist the ones in need. The first perk of medical marijuana is that it’s fantastic for blocking out the pain. Medical marijuana, if used in small doses should be useful and effective towards Alzheimer’s disease. Lastly, medical marijuana can benefit towards ADHD, and ADD. In some studies marijuana has proven to help with impulse control, and cognitive ability, something people with ADHD and ADD struggle with.
