Left Behind: The vanishings by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye is a Christian Fiction book about four kids being left behind after the rapture occurs. The story revolves around four teens: Judd, Vicki, Lionel, and Ryan. Judd, a runaway, used to go to church with his family and used to enjoy it until he got around 12 years old and his views faded away. Now, Judd disrespects his parents and when asked by his mother if he loved Jesus anymore he responded by saying, "If you want the truth, I only go to church so I can go out on weekends and use the car." Judd even disrespects his siblings and made his younger brother tear up after being yelled at by Judd.

Judd decides to run away to London when he checked the mail and noticed hi name on one of the envelope. He knew it was obviously a mistake because his father has the same name. Judd opened the letter and inside there was a credit card that was ready to be used and all he had to do was to dial the number provided and answer a couple of questions and the credit card would be activated. he did so, and he made his escape and got on …show more content…

Each character finds out the hard way when their family and people they know start disappearing. Judd wakes up on the plane to a commotion from the flight attendant running up and down the aisles. Judd realizes that the large man sitting next to him and is gone but what remains are the man's clothes on the seat. The pilot turns on the lights in the plane and everyone is discovering that someone they know is missing and all that is left is their clothes. Judd comes to realization that the rapture has occurred, and when the pilot announces that they are returning to Chicago, Judd is relieved but he is also worried that the same has happened to his family.
