Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest rock bands in history. They have some of the

most memorable songs and riffs in rock and roll. From the chilling sound of Kashmir, the

booming bass of The Immigrant song; all the way to the soul song that is Stairway to

Heaven. Led zeppelin have released some of the most important albums ever produced

and contained some of the best musicians to ever live. Even though they lost their drummer

John Bonham in 1980, they still do occasional reunions. Now that you know a little

background on them, here’s the rest of their story.

In 1966, Jimmy Page joined the band the Yardbirds. He originally joined as the

Their first album which was titled simply “Led

Zeppelin” was released on January 12, 1969. The album received much praise and

caused Led Zeppelin to do their first tour to America. America was a popular place for Led

Zeppelin to tour. They were not particularly liked in England where they were from, but

America loved them. Led Zeppelin went on to record their second album which was titled

LED ZEPPELIN II. This album was released in October of 1969. This album is one of the

most important to rock and roll. Some of the songs on the album have been said to be “the

turning point in metal and rock.” This album reached No. 1 in both the United States and

England and reached higher than The Beatles’ ABBEY ROAD which was released around

Led Zeppelin continued to do many tours around the world, and by 1970 had

another album on the way. LED ZEPPELIN III was another success from the band. The

third album was released almost one year after LED ZEPPELIN II was released. The

album contained some of the band’s best songs in their line-up including “The Immigrant

Song” and “Celebration Day”. The album was much different from the others because
