Learning is one of the important parts throughout life in which human engage. Generally learning has been defined as changes in behaviour resulting from the experience. Discroll (2000, as cited in Siemens 2005) define learning as a constant change in potential of human achievement or performance that occurs as a result of the student experience and interaction with the world. In order to understand the nature of learning, various theories of learning have been proposed by psychologist. According to Aliakbari et al., (2015) theory is a set of related proposals, which will be able to describe, explain, predict, or control the phenomenon.

For example, when promoting breastfeeding it is important to explain the benefits of breastfeeding. In addition encourage mother to ask question (cognitive). Afterwards, teach mother the technique of giving breastfeeding via demonstration (observational learning). I often share with my patients regarding breastfeeding base on my own experience as a reinforcement to new mother. According to social cognitive theory, processes entailed in regulating one's health can be taught through social modeling, support, and feedback. Once the patient able to manage them-self slowly these external support withdrawn. A study by Braungart & Braungart (2007) shows that, in health care social learning theory applied in nursing education, to address psychosocial issues, and to maximize the use of support groups.

In conclusion, the development of these theories for centuries is very impressive. Some theories was developed as a rejection to the earlier one. Others built base on the existing theory, but made improvements and resulting in a new theory. Behaviourism theory is base on assumption that people can learn by observing other behaviour, without involving minds. This theory is basically based on observation and scientific study about how people learn. Learning occur when people construct their own understanding through experiencing things and reflecting on those experiences. Lastly is humanism, Maslow's theory is based on the notion that experience is the primary phenomenon in the study of human learning and behavior.
