Film Commentary Report Alina Masten NURS 416 Dr. Claudeth Jeffrey February 23, 2024. Rationale for selection of film For this assignment, I selected "Lead Me Home," a documentary available on Netflix that sheds light on the crisis of homelessness, particularly on the West Coast. I chose this film because I believe homelessness is a topic that has not been extensively covered in my previous class assignments, and it holds significance to me. Homelessness is a pressing issue affecting millions of Americans, and my personal experience as a toddler experiencing homelessness has heightened my awareness and empathy towards this population. I recognize that homelessness is not solely a result of individual choices, but rather a complex connection of systemic inequalities, …show more content…
Additionally, the film highlighted systemic barriers that hinder the access and delivery to healthcare, such as stigma, discrimination, and inadequate resources. believe Alecia was finally starting to show her true colors (“Pink.” Contemporary para. 7). People.com recoreded Pink’s thoughts about her second album, “‘Missundaztood gave me a sense of freedom andpurpose’, she tells Billboard. ‘It allowed me to exercise a lot of my demons. The world had become my therapists. And it helped me to feel better about being an outcast, knowing that there’s so many other people that share my pain.’”(“Pink Biography.” para.7).

is not really “great” is something that has been criticized for many years. In my first year of school, when I was in kindergarten many students acted different than me. Some students treated the teacher differently and gave attitude to them, while other students were very nice and cooperative with the teacher. “ Stop it and leave me alone!!!” screamed a friend of mine to Mrs. Johnson a kindergarten teacher . I never understood why children think they can do what they want without consulting a parent
Being raised in a single parent family home, has opened my eyes to many perspectives discussed in family society class. [opting out, choice gap, second shift roles, separate spheres, and plan b] perspectives have taught me different ways to look at families in society today. When I examined these perspectives, not only did it put me in a situation to think of different outcomes to better families, but it also made me brainstorm on how these perspectives play an important role in careers, and how
nothing but a farfetched dream, but Moses gives people like me hope. Mom would always tell us famous quotes that Harriet would use to encourage slaves, things like “We got to go free or die, and freedom’s not bought with dust.” That quote always proved to me how determined Harriet was to bring fugitives up North. No matter the cost, she would go back and forth between the deepest of Southern slave states all the way to the North just to lead people to the safety and freedom they should’ve received when
seventeen I nervously traveled about 350 miles from my sleepy little home town of Freedom, Wyoming to the relatively enormous city of Boise, Idaho to go to the Military Entrance Processing Station. This wasn 't the first time I had been this far from home by myself, but it was the first time I was making adult decisions without my parents involvement. When it came time for me to choose my job in the army the counselors presented me with a long list that I qualified for. I got tired of scrolling and
“Lead The Way” It was official, the first day of fifth grade was over, and it had been a great day. I was certain that nothing could ruin it. As my mother drove my siblings and I home we noticed an odd long black car in our driveway that was waiting for us, my mom told me and my siblings to go inside and start dinner. I ran inside to the window by the kitchen to see what was going on and I saw my mother crying, tears steadily dripping down her face, and her head on the shoulder of an

CPO Academy Chief Petty Officer Academy offered me the opportunity to reflect on my career in the United States Coast Guard. It afforded me time to recount the years I spent serving with other leaders. The information I have gathered from the academy has helped me to make a conscious decision on what type of leadership style I think will suit me best. The Coast Guard is an unparalleled organization that prides itself on being the most well managed group of members serving this country. As a Chief
Growing up, I have always had this desire in me that someday I wanted to go to college and become valuable. I want to be successful in this life that I had been given and to become the women that God has created me to be. Graduating High School was the first step that I needed to accomplish before obviously moving on to the next step in my education. I graduated high school, took a year off of schooling and then started that next chapter in my life. I dedicated myself to one year of Bible College
When reminiscing about my childhood a home is hard to recall. It seemed common for others to have a place called home. Moving from house to house was not the problem, but the empty feeling. Home to me was my grandparent’s house. I spent nearly all of my childhood there. My grandparents bought the one story house with two bedrooms in the early seventies. From the spacious bedroom, to the kitchen with endless possibilities and the way I spent my time this house defined my character. After adopting

was not spending long periods of time at my home by my self. My life in general was going very well. The Israelites had just left their home land in search for a even better life in Egypt. They thought that their life was also going pretty well and life seemed to be looking up. Egypt was supposedly a great new land for the people. BEING ENSLAVED- It wasn't much longer after when I discovered pornography.I decided to go home and trying it and one time lead to another and eventually I was hooked,
Introduction Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to be a nurse. Nursing wasn’t just about making money for me it was much more than that. Nursing was something I was very passionate about. I wanted to save lives and help people get back on their feet. I always knew that it would be a long journey for me however, I had faith in myself. With English being my second language I realized that it was going to be ten times harder. I worked hard to be where I am today. Working, volunteering, being a
prince, Paris. This is the value that suffuses the narrative of "The Iliad." According to the axioms of Greek society, one must defend his status and prevent shame from being brought upon him, at all costs. "...[M]y father, he sent me to troy, and urged upon me repeated injunctions, to be always among the bravest and hold my head above others, not shaming the generation of my fathers..." (VI 206-9) This is the Greek bible, the guide to proper decorum. A man's honor, and the honor which he brings
