STATEMENT OF PURPOSE "Knowledge has to be improved, challenged and increased constantly or it may vanish". I have always believed that those who have ability to continuously upgrade and acquire new and better forms of knowledge that they can implement to their day-to-day work, and have pragmatic thoughts can definitely be the heralds for upcoming generations. So after my thriving performance in under graduation, I have decided to further extend my knowledge and continue my studies by pursuing MS (Master of Science) degree in Electrical Engineering at your university. A natural aptitude for Mathematics and Science and curiosity to learn both the subjects resulted in excellent performance in both subjects. In school, from 6th grade I use to give national and international level exams like "National Level Science Talent Search Exam", "International Assessment for National Schools conducted by The University of New South Wales, Australia" and "National Science Olympiad". In 9th grade, I secured 1st rank in school and 10th rank in city in "National Science Olympiad". The curiosity and appreciable performance in Science and Mathematics since primary school have drawn my inclination towards Engineering. In high school, I learned about different types of electromagnetic waves operating at different frequencies and their use in communication between two mobile phones, which helped me to imbibe zeal towards learning subjects related to Electronics and Communication Engineering. The Science has enthralled me since childhood. The affinity towards science led me to perform well in my academics in school and under-graduation as well. In Secondary School Board Examination of 10th grade, I scored 81.08%. Since my youth, my curiosity correlated with my scientific endeavours. My biggest academic interests are Science and Mathematics, because the complexity of concepts intrigue and challenge me. I ask numerous questions, aiming to completely grasp notions, both on class material and on extra research done independently. Problem-solving always lit a spark in me: where most would abandon, I utilize my creativity to push forwards. Chemistry and Physics are omnipresent in everyday life,
...ape me to be a thinker and a learner. The world is literally becoming a global village where opportunities for learning are transcending physical boundaries. In a connected world, Indian knowledge workers are increasingly contributing to the global work force. International education will give me the training and the competence to meet global clients. I look forward to being an active contributing member of the student community at your University.
I have a tendency to forget things, for that reason my childhood friends used to taunt me calling ‘scientist’. I do not remember from when, this bully name has turned into my aim. I have completed my graduation from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology with a CGPA of 3.60 (on a scale of 4.00). I was among the top 5 students in my class. Though I was not always serious in the classroom, I always tried to be vigilant and active during each and every lab classes.
Learning is a continuous process and the day that you stop learning is the day that you start decreasing your rewards and lower levels of satisfaction. My ardent desire to acquire knowledge has motivated me to pursue higher studies at graduate level, and to take up a career in research in industry. I have taken this decision after carefully considering my academic background, profound interest in research and strong aptitude for problem solving. Banking on an excellent academic record coupled with a keen interest in the ever-growing field of science and technology motivated me to take up engineering.
‘Research is creating new knowledge’, as said, since my childhood I was always into experimenting on things, even the smallest radio set in my home was a huge miracle to me as a child. Exploring into the parts of it was great learning. So thus my interest towards technology has begun, which made me participate and win various Science fairs conducted during school level. I stood FIRST in the SIR C.V.RAMAN test as an outstanding student in Science. Being one of the best students in my school I have scored 77% , which was one of the listed topper’s grades, in my X Standard.
To progress collectively, humans work together to create knowledge and come up with new ideas that leads us to gain deeper understanding of the material (Windle). This is further proven by a theory called the Knowledge Building (KB) theory created by Marlene Scardamalia and Carl Bereiter which refers to the practice of creating new knowledge through synthesis of ideas and common goals. If this theory is to be believed, the human society is creating knowledge with observations made in the real world. Knowledge is created when there is an amalgamation of common understanding and ideas of a material. Relating back to the opening assertion, human society has evolved in the pursuit of a greater scope for advancing knowledge. Advancing from one common faith in knowledge to another takes place when an observation and research is validated thereby leading to the advancement. However, advancement of knowledge has another side to it that it discards previous common beliefs to advance further. On the other hand, to advance, retaining previous common belief becomes necessary to delve deeper into the context of a validated knowledge thereby raising knowledge issue, “To what extent is it justified to discard a commonly accepted knowledge when an advanced knowledge is discovered. Do the beliefs that lead to the formation of previous knowledge retain any value?”
Students then begin to see that science and math are not isolated subjects, but work together to solve problems. Also, in STEM lessons, students address real social, economic, and environmental problems to seek solutions. This adds relevance to their math and science learning. In STEM, students also use technology in appropriate ways and design their own products. This practical approach to the education makes student to adapt the style of innovative thinking. All these learning from early age creates a talented individual in field of science and thus, helps increasing the talent pool of United States in world.Students who meet or surpass the STEM benchmark have a 75 percent probability of earning a grade of C or higher in first-year college STEM courses such as calculus, biology, chemistry and physics. They're also more likely to earn good grades, persist in a college STEM major and earn a STEM-related bachelor's degree than those who didn't meet the benchmark. This clearly shows that introduction to science at early age gives a greater benefit for the
