Introduction

In kilner’s case study “Having a baby the new-fashioned way”, present a story that can be relatable to a lot of families struggling to have a child. This is a dilemma that can be controversial and ethical in own sense. The couple that were discussed in the case study were Betty and Tom. Betty and Tom who are both in their early forties who have struggled to bear children. Dr. Ralph Linstra from Liberty University believes that “Fertility can be taken for granted”. Dr. Ralph talks about how many couples who are marriage may run into an issue of bearing a child and turn to “medical science” to fix the issue. He discusses that “God is author of life and he can open and close the womb”. That in it’s self presents how powerful God. …show more content…

His perspective was gear to understanding that God should be the focal point in any struggle and pain. Richard supported his outlook on the case with stories and scriptures from the old testament. The old testament presented infertility with three women. The women were Sarai, Rebekah, and Rachel. In all of the case God had a hand in the situation.1 God either helped with the pain the women suffered from and even gifted them a child when they believed it was not possible. Overall the author wanted to make a point to Betty and Tom that they should have dealt with this struggle through God than science. He makes this known as his main issue when he states “the case study indicates neither the degree to which they submit their struggle to the Lord, nor the kind of faith they have in the Lord in the first place”.1 I believe this was a valid point the author because God tests us at our weakest moments to see how our faith stands with him. They believe the only issue is with the fertility clinic not doing their part in creating a sound environment that is geared developing a child not money centered. The third author’s outlook lead more towards providing counseling as a direction for the couple’s situation. They believe that its necessary to seek outside help to provide guidance on handling this matter. The stress, tension, and uncertainty that is arising in the individuals that are involves needs a middle man of a professional background to give insight them on how to handle these matters. The last author displayed his opinion as focuses more on incorporating all parties in the process of child birth.
