Extracurricular Activities Keeping Kids Out of Trouble Playing sports and being involved in things within the school will benefit you in the future. Participating in activities like sports, music, clubs, etc. will help you stay out of trouble throughout high school and possibly college. Staying out of trouble for people has been a huge issue. A multitude of teenagers are known for getting into some sort of trouble. Being an athlete and participating in different activities keeps teens out of trouble. Although it is the students choice between right and wrong being involved partakes in keeping kids out of trouble. Extracurricular activities are activities you can do after school. For example, athletics, clubs, music groups, and after school programs are all considered extracurricular activities. This offers a way for kids to spend time and energy productively instead of being bored. Occupying yourself with sports and other extracurricular activities eliminates time to get involved in drugs, violence, etc.. For example, I am the oldest of six kids which means my parents hardly have time for all six of us. I also go to a different school than my siblings, so my parents tend to worry about where I am. Parents worry about where their kids are at all times. Knowing your kid is at practice with coaches and people you trust, puts the parents at ease. Playing a sport and being in clubs keeps you busy. Therefore, you have practices every evening and sometimes in the mornings. Many coaches have two-a-days which means you show up in the morning before school and you practice after school. When you have this amount of practices you don’t have time to worry about doing things that’ll get you in trouble.
