Scope Mr. Olajide, Kazeem has been working as a staff/Charge Nurse in the Persistent Seriously Mentally ill (PSMI) unit for the past one year. He regularly works evening tour but volunteered multiple times cover night tour when need arises. He enthusiastically accepted rotations to other units (L-143CD, L-143CW).These behaviors proved Mr. Kazeem’s flexibility and as a team player. He also provides leadership and direction to colleagues and holistic and quality care to veterans. During course of care giving, Mr. Kazeem maintains therapeutic milieu and uses nonjudgmental approach in delivering safe quality care to the veterans.

Kazeem is keeping up with treading nursing issues and evolving model of care by reading Journal of Nursing Education and Practice. He is currently pursuing Master Degree in Psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Mr. Kazeem timely completed education activities on TMS and attended other in-service programs such as Annual Competency and PCX competency. Mr. Kazeem is the 2015 “Flu champion” for L-143CN. He provided evidence-based vaccine information to employees who have misconception and able to achieved 85% vaccination. For Mr. Kazeem commitment to veteran care, he was recognized and received Nursing Excellence Award in May, 2015.

Collegiality: Mr. Kazeem is committed to team work. He uses Relationship-Based Care model in providing guidance and mentoring new colleagues. He supports peers and provides evidence-based response in areas of limitations. He provides assistance to peers and other members from other units in resolving technology related issues such as Pyxis and CPRS. He shared new/evolving care practice or model with colleagues to improve clinical awareness.
Ethics: Mr. Kazeem understands HIPPA guidelines in regards to keeping veterans information safe. He also completed Privacy and Information Security Awareness and Rules of Behavior in TMS to enhance knowledge of information security.
