All Quiet on the Western Front is a 1929 novel written Paul joined the war after some intensive urging from the school master Kantorek. Kantorek was a fiercely patriotic man and he persuaded many of Pauls friends to enlist to prove their patriotism. While at war Kantorek writes them a letter to encourage them by calling them "Iron Youth" and praising them on their heroism. How is paul narrating the story? (what is he telling us a bad the war?)
