The Purpose of Purpose The pursuit of true love takes a major role in almost all people’s life. Canadian popular pop and R&B artist, Justin Bieber, uses love to inspire his music that has always landed high on the charts. Purpose is Bieber’s newest album containing thirteen songs, three of which placed a spot in the top five Billboard’s top 200. At the time of its release on November 13, 2015, it leaped to the top of the charts, and according to billboard.com, became the top-rated album in the world on November 19, 2015. The album influenced greatly on Bieber’s “very high-profile breakup with singer-actress Selena Gomez” (Pearce). In the song “I’ll Show You” Bieber talks about how “life’s not easy,” when he was continuously getting into trouble with the law, and his ex Selena Gomez. He then goes on to talk about how “[he is only] human.” Bieber feels that in a relationship his partners “want [him] to be perfect,” and he cannot be perfect because he is only a human, and humans make mistakes. The song “Sorry” indicates that Justin just wants “one more shot at forgiveness” and how she should let him “redeem [himself].” Justin asks “is it too late now to say sorry?” in a playful, non-serious manner(Fallon). Bieber could care less if he got another chance because he honestly does not care about love at the moment, and wants nothing to do with it.
