Justice was served after 36 years when the FBI finally tracked down the masterminds behind the biggest bank robbery in New York's history, the Lufthansa Heist. The FBI believes that this is a lesson to be learned for the thousands of criminals today. No matter how long, even decades, like the Lufthansa Heist, you will be found and your time will be served. Even though the mobsters were captured, the man who thought of the entire scheme, James Burke, still carried out plans to continue their "business" in recent months of the year. There were many different assets to this very critical plan that the crime family had prepared for, but they did not know that sooner or later they were going to get caught.
In 1976, the entire manifestation was completely planned by a man named James Burke or better known by his alias "Jimmy the Gent". A bookmaker, Martin Krugman, told Burke's associate, Henry Hill, about the money that had been stolen. At the Kennedy Airport the stolen millions was stored in a vault. An employee at the airport, Louis Werner, owed close to $20,000 for his gambling problem and also to, Pete Gruenwald, a former coworker. Earlier, Pete Gruenwald and Louis Werner stole $22,000, without a problem from a previous employer, Lufthansa. The man who helped with all the planning was, Louis Werner. Werner went as far as telling the 'get away cars' where to park, so they could execute the plan perfectly. To get the money to its destination, they used a huge van to transport it, but it interfered with a "crash" car to make sure there was a police chase. In my opinion, I feel as though this entire investigation should have been solved decades ago, but considering the amount of evidence they had to show the court, was impossible. The Crime Family is very lucky to get away with what they did. Taking three time the amount that the planner actually wanted is a risk they were willing to take, but If “Stacks” could have got rid of the van like he said he was going to, maybe in 2014 we would have never found Vincent. A hit was put out on Taylor and Zavala by leaders of the Mexican drug cartel because they were becoming a nuisance. This hit was carried out by the same Latino gang members who had previously done a drive-by shooting of a rival gang. The officers were enticed towards their imminent deaths with a car chase which was set up by the Latino gang members. This chase led them towards an apartment complex which was rigged with many gang members and artillery to ensure that neither Taylor nor Zavala would survive. The two were ambushed, but decided that gunning their way out was their best option.
Justice was not served in the controversial nature of the Bernhard Goetz subway shooting trial. After shooting four black teenagers, Bernhard Goetz turned himself into the police in Concord, New Hampshire. He was denominated, “The Subway Vigilante”. This case was brought to court approximately two years later, where Bernhard Goetz would ultimately be voted guilty of one count of illegal firearms possession, and served just six months in jail. Following the trials, questions are still being asked if justice has been served.

There are an abundant amount of Americans solving mysteries every day to keep others safe. Crimes are committed all around the United States at every second of the day! The organized crime we once knew in America has changed. While we are familiar with the Mafia in Hollywood films, the threat of organized crime is at a much larger scale. International terror groups and the financial gains they receive from organized crime groups must be stopped. With new insight in the organized crime topic, Americans can now know that the situation is being handled and there security and welfare is being looked out for. We as a national will do whatever it takes to be free and to promote welfare for all people. Our history has shown this and will prevail in the future.

Justice can be defined as the concept of moral rightness, which is based on the rules of law, fairness, ethics, and equality among the governed citizens. Revenge, on the other hand, refers to an action taken by an individual as a response to an act of injustice. The principle of revenge is “an eye for an eye”…. Can revenge be justified and be as equally part of justice if they both seek retribution for a wrongdoing?
