Stuck in Our Own Box One of the most complex things that has ever been discovered is the brain. It is responsible for Beethoven's 9th Symphony, the invention of the light bulb, this essay, and for many other great inventions, but with stress our minds can falter. The short film, “Joshua in a Box” shows the viewers how great the human mind can be. It shows that as life goes on the struggles never go away, but people can always recover. If it weren’t for the struggles in life nothing would ever happen to anyone, and that’s not any better than the original struggles Even though, at times, the struggles that people face can become too difficult to handle, like we see in “Joshua in a Box,” people can always recover from what has happened to them. “Joshua in a Box” shows that it is okay to have some tribulation in life, but that anyone can recover from what has happened to them. …show more content…

In the beginning we hear a guitar playing a melody in a major key that makes the viewer feel pleasurable; then we see the opening title sequence with the names of everyone who contributed. While there is text track, what it’s saying lacks importance, but the way it is presented is of great importance. The visual track shows many bright colors on a white background and this makes the viewer feel content, like there’s nothing wrong. Then as time goes on the viewer sees Joshua, and the struggle as he attempts to escape the box. As the viewer watches him try and escape the tempo of the background music begins to accelerate poco a poco, and there are added sound effects that add to what Joshua is doing in the box. Then as Joshua gets more desperate to escape the box the music reacts the same way, it begins to play in a more desperate way. This all adds to what he is doing, and makes the short film more interesting to
