This is a story about a New York mobster, who was the
Godfather of the Gambino Family. Today he is serving a life sentence in Marion Federal Penitentiary on 43 counts of racketeering, multiple murders, loan sharking, gambling, and even jury tampering. John Gotti was born October 27, 1940 in the Bronx. John Gotti had 12 other brothers and sisters.
He had 2 parents, Fannie and John Joseph Gotti Sr. John
Gotti started school in 1945. In 1950 The Gotti family moved to Sheepshead Bay, where John attended P.S. 209.
In 1952, the family moved to East New York; John attended P.S. 178. While he was in school Gotti had his first brush with the law when he was caught with friends stealing and vandalizing with portable cement mixer that tipped over and crushed the toes of his feet. He had to be hospitalized for awhile as a result, and is reportedly missing a toe or two.

By the age of 14 he was stealing cars. In his teens he took part in stealing tires, running stills, bootlegging, and armed robbery. In 1922, he was committed to a boys home for auto theft. Two years later he was released on parole, but returned in 5 months for a similar charge. He meet Helen Wawzynak in 1928, and later married her. In January of 1931 he robbed a bank in Chicago, Illinois, and was sent to prison for one year to life.

NEW YORK, Apr. 2, 1992 -- The infamous “Teflon Don,” John Gotti, former head of the Gambino family, was convicted and sentenced to life in prison today without possibility of parole. He was convicted on 5 counts of murder (Castellano and Bilotti, Robert DiBernardo, Liborio Milito and Louis Dibono), conspiracy to commit murder, illegal gambling, loan sharking, racketeering, extortion, obstruction of justice, bribing a public official and tax evasion (Goodstein, 1992). Acting as boss, John Gotti was believed to have made the Gambino family more than $500 million in revenue from illegal gambling, drug trafficking, extortion, and stock fraud (“John Joseph Gotti Jr”, 2014). During the trial, the judge ordered that the jurors stay anonymous, identified only by number, in order to avert a repeat of the jury tampering that occurred involving previous trials with Mr. Gotti (FBI, 2007).
He took advantage of this and joined some of harry and homers accomplices and they netted about 50,000$ worth of dirty money by multiple robberies allowing him to put the escape plan in motion. Coincidentally, the day harry and homer managed to escape, john was arrested and incarcerated ay the lime, Ohio jail. This happened to be very close to harry and homers hideout so john was quickly broken out of jail by his accomplices. Right after their succsesfull prison break, the gang went off to chigago where they planned and organized one of the most deadly bank robbing gangs in the country. The gang went on a crime spree, robbing banks all over illonoius, Indiana and wesconson. After a while, they decided to move to Arizona due to the police searching all over the Midwest for them. They decided, before they left, to rob the first national bank of Gary, Indiana. This robbery did not end well, it resulted in the injury of his partner and john murdered a police officer during their escape. Alphonse Gabriel Capone was the most notorious bootlegger in American History. He was born on January 17, 1899 and died of a heart attack on January 25, 1947. Capone grew up in Brooklyn and became a member of the Five Points Gang. During a street fight he had received a scar on his face that gave him the nickname “Scarface”. Capone quickly moves up the ranks in the mafia world, often noticed for his toughness, in 1919 he grabbed the attention of mobster John Torrio of Chicago. Capone was promoted to bodyguard of the mob boss James Colosimo. When Capone moved to Chicago, bootlegging was just starting to blow up. John Joseph Gotti, Jr. was born on October 27, 1940. He was the fifth child of eleven children. His parents were John J. Gotti Sr. and Fannie Gotti. John Gotti's father was believed to be a hardworking immigrant from the Neapolitan section of Italy, though Gotti would later describe his father as a New Jersey native who has never set foot in Italy and never worked a day in his life to provide for the family. The Gotti family grew up in the slums of the South Bronx. Although Gotti denies it, his father worked hard to move them out of the poor neighborhoods. John J. Gotti Sr., after much perseverance, later moved his family to the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood. However, after living in Sheepshead Bay for about a year, the Gotti family again moved, and relocated to East New York - an area of Brooklyn where they made permanent residence.
As he grew older, Capone was hired by the gang leader, Torrio, to be a bouncer at a bar in Brooklyn, taking his first step up the “gang ladder”. One night, Capone’s cheek was slashed during a fight at the bar over a girl. It was from then on he was known as Scarface. Later in his life, when asked by reporters where he got this scare, he often lied of serving in the “Lost Battalion” in WWI, even though he never served in the military (Internet 1, 1).
