Johannes Kepler was born at 1 P.M on December 27, 1571 in Weil Der Stadt, Wurttemberg, in the Holy Empire of German Nationality. He was a sickly child and his parents were poor. Kepler’s family was Lutherans and he adhered to the Augsburg confession a defining document for Lutheranism. He was the eldest child of an ill assorted union. His father Henry Kepler was a reckless soldier of fortune and his mother, Catherine Guldemann, the daughter of an innkeeper. His father worked as a mercenary and left the family when Johannes was five years old. It is believe that his father died in the eighty years war in Netherlands. His mother was an inner keeper daughter and worked as a healer and herbalist. Kepler mother was tried for witchcraft. kepler had six siblings and three of which died at an early age. Kepler suffered from an eye illness and his vision was severely defective like hypochondria.
In 1576the family moved to Léon erg where Johannes attended first the German school and then the Latin school. In 1583, he passed the exam in Stuttgart and in 1584 went to the seminar Adelberg Germany, a convent school. Two years later he was accepted at a higher seminar in Maulbronn Germany, also a convent school. Kepler made possible through a scholarshiop and he began in 1589 with his studies in theology, philosophy, mathematics and astrnomy at the University of Tuebingen Germany.
When Johannes parents returned after several years, his father, Henry set up a business as an innkeeper. His father was not interested in paying fees to send his son to school. Johannes worked affect us today because without his three law of motion we wouldn’t have be able to know about the universal gravitation. Also with his idea that the planets, and as well planet earth, he state that the sun was revolved around the planets and that planets were on the center. Also he published data on the position on the stars which immensely help navigators. He made various contributions to mathematics including faster methods of calculation. He also was the person the improve optics. However, his main contribution with the greatest impact was Keplers laws of planetary motion. In the year of 1473, on the 19th of February, a soon-to-be, well remembered, mathematician/astronomer was born in the city of Torun, Poland. Born with the name of Nicolaus Copernicus, he was the fourth and youngest child of Nicolaus Copernicus Sr., and Barbara Watzenrode. Copernicus was, technically, born into German heritage. That being said, his primary language was german, bt many scholars believe he spoke fluently in Polish also. At ten years of age, the unfortunate happened to Nicolaus; His father passed away. After the passing of Nicolaus Sr., a maternal uncle stepped in and took over the parenting role. Nicolaus’ uncle took matters into his own hands to make sure Copernicus acquired the most outstanding education possible. Copernicus enrolled in the University of Cracow in the year of 1491. While at the university, he studied painting and mathematics. At that time, Copernicus took no classes over astronomy. Nicolaus developed a growing interest in cosmos and books. He then started a collection of books on astronomy. Following Nicolaus’s graduation from Cracow in 1494, he returned back to the city Torun. Copernicus's uncle had already had a job as a cannon arranged for him prior to his arrival. This job at Frombork Cathedral, was usually only given to priests. Such a fortunate and unusual opportunity, Copernicus took the job. He then held that job for the rest of his life. The position of a cannon allowed him to fund money to continue his studies for as long as he desired. There was really only one major downfall of the job. Copernicus was born on February 19, 1473 in Thorn, Poland. He was the youngest son of four children and the son of a prosperous merchant. Following his father's death, his Uncle Lukas Watzelrode, bishop of Ermland, adopted him. Copernicus began his studies in Thorn and then at the University of Cracow where he studied mathematics and became very interested in humanistic studies.1 Copernicus left Cracow for Italy where he went to the Universities of Bologna and later Padua. He studied many different subjects including mathematics, canon law, and astronomy. Copernicus received a degree in medicine at the University of Padua, and went on to receive his doctorate from the University of Ferrara in canon law.
This paper is an overview of the Kepler spacecraft and its mission in space. According to the National Aeronautics and Space Association (NASA), Kepler, named after Renaissance astronomer Johannes Kepler, “is a space observatory launched…to discover Earth-like planets orbiting other stars.” Kepler does this by searching for planets within our galaxy that have a similar size to Earth within a habitable zone. A habitable zone is a distance between the planet and its star where water can exist on the planet’s surface. Additionally, Kepler is aimed at searching for planets with similar one-year orbits like that of Earth. As technology advances on Earth, increased standards of living and life expectancies have taken a toll on Earth’s fleeting, finite resources. Kepler potentially provides scientists with information regarding planets that can serve as a future home when resources have diminished and information that can foreshadow inevitabilities about Earth through older, Earth-like planets.
Sir Isaac Newton was born on Christmas Day, 25 December, 1642 based on the Julian Calendar (4 January, 1643, Gregorian Calendar) in Woolsthorpe Manor in Woolsthorpe-by-Colsterworth, three months after the death of his father. He was born premature, and his mother Hannah Ayscough had reportedly said that he was small enough to fit inside a quart mug. Newton’s mother remarried when he was three years old and left him in the care of his grandmother. This incident created much emotional distance between the scientist and his mother, and in addition to that, Newton also confessed to frightening his parents by threatening to burn them and their house. Another sad aspect of Newton’s personal life is that even though he was engaged, he never married.
Isaac Newton had a tragic and unfortunate life ever since he was born. Three months prior to Newton’s birth, his father died. Then, when Newton was three years old, his mother left him with her parents in order to remarry to a wealthy rector, named Barnabas Smith. A few years later, his mother returned with three more children, and brought Newton back home to live with her and their new family. Newton went to school for next next couple years, until age fourteen, when he was told to drop out of school to assist his mother around the house and on the farm. It turned out Newton was not of any help around the house nor farm, because he was constantly busy reading. His mother then advised him to return to school (“Isaac Newton;” Gleick). After said events, his mother's second husband, Barnabas Smith dies as well. His mother then fled again, completely neglecting Newton's parental needs. Combination of all these events caused Newton to be on a constant emotional and physical edge, often crying and engaging in disputes and fights in school (“Sir Isaac Newton;” Hatch).

He was able to calculate the positions of the planets. In 1604, he discovered a new star, which was actually the Milky Way’s last supernova. In 1609 he published Astronomia Nova (New Astronomy) which launched his heliocentric view of the universe and the first two laws of planetary motion. The first being that planets move in an elliptical, not spherical, orbit with the Sun being one of the foci, or center point. Johannes Kepler was a Mathematician and an Astronomer in the late 1500’s into the early 1600’s. He studied the algorithms of Astronomy from the age of 15 to the end of his life. With the accomplishments he had he has changed the way we study the solar system. He was a man of integrity and didn’t give up when trying something. Another important individual who drove history was the Italian astronomer and scientist Galileo Galilei. Galileo discovered something so important that it changed the selfish perspective that humans were the center of the universe and led to the growth of human knowledge. Utilizing mathematics and a telescope he had developed, Galileo observed that the planets revolved around the sun and not the Earth. This was a significant discovery because not only did it contradict what the church had taught, it also showed that the universe was not what it seemed. With this truth uncovered, many people began to fascinate over the universe. This triggered people to begin studying space extensively and eventually lead to present day space exploration. Galileo also left a lasting impression upon many great minds, such as Sir Isaac Newton, who used Galileo's research and theories to further his own studies such as the physical laws, and their properties.
Although Copernicus’s model was no more accurate than Ptolemy’s System it did succeed in getting other intellectuals of the time to challenge the concepts of the Ptolemaic system and the mathematics of Aristotle’s cosmology. One such intellectual was Tycho Brahe (1546-1601). Unlike Copernicus, Brahe did not believe the Earth revolved around the Sun. Instead, he proposed that Mars and Venus moved around the Sun and the other heavenly bodies moved around the Earth. Although still misguided, Brahe’s contribution to the astronomy world was his means of supporting his theory.
Galileo Galilei was born on February 15, 1564, in Pisa, Italy. He was a mathematics professor who made pioneering observations of nature with long-lasting implications for the study of physics. Galileo constructed a machine that changed everything in astronomy, the telescope, and this supported the Copernican theory. In 1600, Galileo met Marina Gamba, a Venetian woman, who gave him three children. The daughters were Virginia and Livia, and son Vincenzo. But He never married Marina because he feared his illegitimate children would threaten his social standing. He died in Arcetri, Italy, on January 8, 1642.
