Jackson Pollock created a work of art solely influenced by his unique use of imagination and periods that he went through in his life. His piece of art, Untitled
(Collage 1), mainly utilizes a variety of lines. In each part of the abstract piece the viewer sees that there is a continuous use of contour line. The lines go from light and delicate to dark and hard to show the confidence that Pollock had in his paintings. Contour lines are what start any piece of art, and from the line the painting progresses and turns into a work of art. There are also uses of parallel and cross hatching lines. The viewer can also see the use of diagonal line. With diagonal lines you can see movement. Movement in Pollock’s piece can be seen and he used a variation of diagonal lines when he was creating the piece. The focal point in this piece of art is the only color that is in the upper left corner of the board. Most viewers of art look straight to the color because color is the only thing the human eye sees. The color in this piece of art is a beautiful grey and silver mix and it brings the whole creation together. The colors used in Jackson
Pollock’s art are mostly made up of dark and hard colors, blacks, tans, and beige.
The color scheme is neutral because the piece includes the colors and hues that don’t show up on the color wheel like the blacks, grays, browns, and beige. The beige background makes the black and gray pop to make the piece more interesting.

Jackson Pollock was an American painter who was based out of New York. In his time, he was considered an Abstract Expressionist and was one of the most conspicuous of his time. He was a very confident artist, and no matter what was going on in his life, he put his whole heart in every piece of art that he created. In
Untitled (Collage 1), Pollock was trying to show his knowledge of the concept of scale. Pollock wanted to concentrate on making something small seem big and intimate, which is what he was doing while creating this work of art. His representation of a “Galaxy” by using enamel, silver paint, and pebbles is amazing.
He was such a creative and imaginative artist and to do what he did was fantastic.
Jackson Pollock’s piece of art has texture. By mixing pebbles in with the enamel and paint, and then dripping in over the board, he produced a piece that, in my opinion, was phenomenal. Jackson Pollock was such a unique and creative artist, and in all of his pieces of work he used different mediums and different techniques and personally to me, he’s one of the best out there.
