Is technology ruining people's lives? Are phones way too overused? What needs to be done to control this? People all around the world are becoming very reliant on cellphones, mainly teeenagers. Technology is always growing and everyone thinks they need what's new and improved. Cell phone usage is becoming an addiction for some people. Can people go five minutes without having their eyes stuck to a screen? No one can have a real conversation like before, everything is said through screens. No teenager wants to go sit down for lunch and talk about things. Teens are so reliant on cell phones to the point where social media is more important than school. Grades are becoming bad, school no longer means anything to anyone. All that seems to matter to kids is who is going to text them, if they get notifications on instagram, twitter, or facebook. …show more content…
When walking through halls at school everyone is always having their phones glued to their hands, constantly being bumped into because no one is paying attention. Sitting in a classroom watching all the kids that are so reliant on their phones, once it goes off they have to check it right away, does not matter if the teacher is talking or another student. People worry too much about what goes on in the world around them and social media to realize technology is ruining lives. It starts as young as eight to ten years old when technology starts impacting lives. When younger kids are looking up to teenagers they think it is normal to always have a cell phone and be constantly checking
The cell phone is an evil that is blocking the young adult from absorbing any information. The newer the cell phone, the more of a consumerist attitude the student will have. If college’s penalized students for using cell phones in class, like they are supposed to, then maybe it will crack the student and allow them to see what they are missing. Trying to find a solution to the consumerist student problem is very complex, but it does focus on the lack of students paying attention.
Although Though technology can be good, it can be worse than good, such as people always with their faces on their phones and headphones in their ears, people neglecting books and using more online text, and people wasting their lives watching TV.Children now know how to use a phone faster than they can
Many people walk and don’t even look up anymore. Riding the bus today has become a very silent ride. You have people listening to music, checking emails, statuses, and other social network sites. You can’t even get a simple hello or how are you doing like the old days. Even in classrooms students can’t put away their phones . It’s as if they can’t live without it. They are so attached and fascinated by people’s tweets or Facebook posts that takes their focus away. Mainly the reason why many students fail a class is because if your teacher sees you using your phone, it shows that you are not serious and your focus is not there .We have something called self-control and if our society learns how to put their phone down and live life ,they can realize the beauty around them .Technology wouldn’t take over our
Technology is unavoidable in our modern lifestyle. You wake up, you use technology; you use technology while cooking, while eating, while driving. While you’re lying in bed before you fall asleep, you use technology, technology wakes you up in the morning. Is all the technology around you good for you, or is it harmful to your health? Was our society healthier or safer before all the advancements? So many questions and concerns about all of the technology we crave, but there are very few people who know the answers. Technology affects all parts of human life. It can create jobs, motivate people to get active, and assist people in learning, but this does not balance out that there are dangers that follow the use of technology.
When thinking of killing, drugs and nudity, I’m pretty sure not many people think of positive ideas. Electronics, such as television and computers, show these kinds of things regularly. Despite this explicit material, some people see the constantly improving technology as a wonderful addition to our lives. Yet as time passes, more and more people start to have doubts about what these developments in technology are leading to. Kids and teens should be playing and using their imaginations; instead they devote countless hours on various electronics ranging from tablets and computers to phones and TV’s. These inventions often show explicit and inappropriate material which corrupts children, and are slowly ruining society’s social skills.
Cell phones have crept into an owner’s possession at all times. “The mobile phone has become a part of us: our best friend who will save all our secrets, pleasures and sorrows” ("Exploring"). Teens have developed the need to know the latest news on social media every minute of every day; they do not want to miss any little detail. Since the beginning of smart phones, high school students have felt the need to have their media open on their smart phone in front of them so they do not feel empty. Once someone has become attached or addicted to something, it is hard to change their habits. Cell phones have changed people socially, especially with the availability to social media with electronics.
Docksai, Rick. Teens and cell phones: cell phones can be noisy and distracting. But they can also be an aid to learning." The Futurist. Jan.-Feb.

The facts that have been stated in this research paper shows enough facts that cell phone use has a great effect on young people’s life. The question of young people and cell phone use and texting causing young people to be less able to concentrate and focus has always been a difficult one to answer. Finally I am able to describe my opinion in the situation, if whether or not society is becoming too dependent on technology. I believe that most of the times technology is helpful in carrying on everyday life, but at times technology isn’t really needed. Technology is used a lot to communicate, but some families don’t even spend time together and later just fall apart. To me medical technology is a very important factor to account for in this situation. Because it can either kill someone or save them. Education has also been brought up into this argument for helping students and affecting students. Family separation, medical advances, and education play a major rule in my decision toward this topic. Technology is a helpful tool for many people while to others it is just a distraction. Technology will never stop being developed but some of the thing being created and how they are used are really not the nessessary
Can you see yourself without a cell phone today? This world has become so technologically dependent that it is hard for anyone to not use a cell phone, a computer, or some sort of device at least once during the day. Since technology has come so far, better education should be possible. Cell phones are a way of communication and can make people feel safe, so it is hard to believe that most schools ban them. It is time for schools to see that technology is the future and it is growing rapidly, along with educational and safety features.
The mobile phone has changed the way one thinks. Although many people rely on the internet for help for school, community events, politics, and education. A cell phone wastes studying time an distracts ones learning process. Americans today about 90% teens today have mobile phones and about 17% of those teens use up too only three hours.
One reason to consider the introduction of cell phones in learning is to promote digital etiquette, a concept that is foreign to most people. According to Liz Kolb (the author of “Toys to Tools”) Digital etiquette is “a basic set of rules you should follow in order to make the internet better for others, and better for you.” Kolb says in her book that “an educator’s job is to help students navigate and stay safe in their media world”. Students often are unaware to the consequences of their use and misuse of technology. Currently, many students do not overthink about protecting their own privacy. For example 55% of students do not care whether the digital material they use is copyrighted. Students ages 10 to 17 often do not take in appropriate cell phone use. According to Kolb “While nine out of ten 10- to 17- year olds believe that they are courteous on their cell phones, 52% admit to sending text messages at the movie theater, while 28% admit to sending texts at the dinner table.” These statistics show that teens are unaware with cell pho...
...r phones update our minds suffer another loss. People are slowly losing their independence to think for themselves and the ability to rely on their own intelligence instead of a computer`s. When this happens, it can endanger the proper development of the personality and hamper the social relationships needed for life together in society. The more we succumb towards technology, the less personality we are capable of retaining. It`s come to the point that the smaller our devices get, the smaller our brains get as well. Technology has vastly improved over just a short amount of time, and societies` dependence on it is strengthened more and more with every day that passes. Yes, it makes life "easier", but the easy way out isn`t always the best way. People don`t just depend on their technology for help anymore. It has come to the point where they depend on it to survive.
I remember a classmate when I was in high school because he never talked to anybody. He spent most of his time on his cell phone or using his tablet, and he did not do well in school. He was different than my other classmates and I believe that he never felt comfortable in the classroom. Everybody knows that cell phones have changed peoples’ life dramatically. Cell phones are one of the most revolutionary advances in the last decades because they make things simpler and easier but cell phones have a strong impact on teenagers. Teenagers are in one of the most important phase in their lives because they are exploring the world and developing their capacities. I believe that cell phones have more negative than positives effects on teenagers for many reasons.
