Does one have the right to end their life, if living with an incurable disease; or is it morally wrong? This question has been the driving force behind the topic of physician-assisted suicide, a very conversable topic in our nation today. The basis of physician-assisted suicide is, if a person is very terminally ill, a doctor can give the patient a dose of lethal medication to end their lives if he or she has less than 6 months to live and is over the age of 18. There have only been five states plus the District of Columbia that have ruled physician-assisted suicide as legal, thus, meaning that 44 states have laws deeming physician-assisted suicide as illegal.
