In the article “Is College Worth It”, The anonymous author conveys the pros and cons of earning a college degree. When choosing your major in college, it is important to choose wisely, and it is also important to make a good decision on where you are going to attended college at. Degrees are all different and are not all equal. “Some degrees pay for themselves; others don’t”; in other words, going to college costs money and sometimes the degree that you choose to seek can cost more than what you will earn. Employees who graduate college will earn more money than those who only graduate high school. Those who attend college will be faced with loans and debts, but, depending on the degree they chose, they should be able to pay them off. Those who seek loans but do not complete college, will be forced to pay back those loans. Having debt could affect getting one’s own life started, when they are fresh out of college. There employers that are unable to hire employees because they feel that they are not yet ready to fill the job due to their inability to complete the skills that are needed. The author's audience is newly graduates who are debating if they should attend college or go straight into work. The author of this passage sort of went on a compare and contrast style by comparing and contrasting those who went to college and those who did not by their jobs and salaries. Over all the author was not to formal but was also not informal, basically like he or she was just having a normal everyday conversation.
