Recommended: General theme of George Orwell's 1984

Dorothy- Dorothy is one of the main characters in the book. She gets stuck in a tornado and gets dropped off in the West. When she gets there she meets the good witch and the Good witch gives her a kiss that will protect her from any evil. While she’s on her way to see the Wizard of Oz she meets Scarecrow, Tin man and the Cowardly lion. When Oz was about to take her back to Kansas she goes to find Todo and doesn’t get on the balloon in time. In the end she finds her way back to Kansas and her family.

Scarecrow- Dorothy meets the Scarecrow first and saves him. While they’re on their way to Oz the Wicked Witch of the North sends crows and the Scarecrow scares them away. While Dorothy and the cowardly lion are sleeping more cows come and he scares …show more content…

He tells Dorothy that he wants to be brave because he’s a lion. Oz gives him courage so he can become the bravest lion. The lion goes back to the forest and becomes the brave leader.

Wizard of Oz- The Wizard of Oz plays a big part in this book because he controls everything in the Land of Oz. Everyone looks up to Oz as the great leader when in reality he’s nothing but a regular man. Before Dorothy and her friends figure out that he’s just a regular man he shows up to everyone as a ball of fire, a brownie, etc. When Dorothy and her friends find out his secret he tells him all about his story.

The Golden cap- The golden cap in this story is used by the Wicked Witch of the West. she had already used it two times. The first time she used it was to make the Winkies her slaves. The second time was to make the Winged Monkeys her helpers. The third time she used it she used it to send the bees, the ravens and the wolves. DOrothy takes Todo with her everywhere so it's no surprise that she brought him with her to go on their adventure to see OZ. When DOrothy, Tin man and the Scarecrow are on their way to see Oz the Cowardly lion jumped out at them and Todo started barking at him and scared him. When Todo gets captured by the Winged Monkeys Dorothy goes and gets him back by fighting the WIcked witch and defeating her and getting todo back. When they get back to Kansas Todo runs to Dorothy’s grandma and grandpa.

Adventure. Adventure is the word that sums this book up pretty well. In this book Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin man, cowardly lion and Todo go on an adventure to see the Wizard of Oz. On their little adventure they come across Winged Monkeys, bees, wolves and ravens and fight all of them off. When they finally get to see Oz he doesn’t grant them their wish until he figures out that they all defeated the Wicked Witch of the West.

I thought this book was for the most part really good, but at times it got kind of mean. The times that it got mean were when Oz wasn’t giving them what they wanted and gave them attitude. My favorite part was probably when Dorothy defeated the Wicked Witch of the West and she melted. This part was my favorite because she didn’t mean to make her melt, she was just trying to get her dog
