The Caucasus is a region, which is located between the Caspian and the Black Sea. The Caucasus is a compact and diverse region. The Caucasus is divided into north and South, North Caucasus have 7 republics, which are North Ossetia, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Adygea, Dagestan Chechnya and Karachay–Cherkessia. South Caucasus has three independent republics, which are Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan Small States. The 7 republics in North Caucasus are part of the Russian Federation. Most people loving in North Caucasus were against Russia, but South Caucasus get along with the Middle East. The Caucasus is unique region because of its home to the four-language group, which is created in the Caucasus and it, is the only place where people talk their language. Before Ottoman takeover of the Caucasus region and in order to protected frontiers and defeat mountain peoples, the czarist Imperial regime used local Christian peoples in the many battles against Ottoman Turkey and Shamil, whether through efforts at religious conversation. These struggles between Islam and Christianity created hatred that never faded from Caucasus culture. The invasion of the Muslims Arab ended the historic competition that influences the Caucasus region. The Arabs then started to occupied the region and the local nobles can rule as long as they want until they pay the taxes. By the nineteenth century, Russia had regained some of its control over the Caucasus and attitudes toward the newly required Islamic republics, which was exemplified by an 1865 transportation of 40,000 Chechens. After the Bolshevik Revolution, Soviet policy tightened even further on religious life in the Caucasus with the widespread execution of Caucasian religious leaders in 1920.
