Into the Mind of Darkness
"You cannot have [the] power for good without having [the] power for evil too.
[And], even mother's milk nourishes murderers as well as heros, [besides what man was
ever content with just one crime]." (Mitchell).
In the past decade, an elusive creature has capture the attention of the American
society as well as a few Eurpoean nations. In the twisted psychotic minds of the these
individualistic creatures who murder constantly to appease their hunger, life, sex, pain
and death are fashioned into a passion to kill. And, in this world other men and women
of society were pawns or toys to be played with, terrorized, raped, violated, and
murdered. Then when the creature has had its fun, their victims bodies will be casually
tossed to the side, since it is no longer a means for pleasure or domination. But a
souviner will keep a of the exploit, to remember always, wether it be a body part or a
trinket. Some of them have been known to mock the authorities with deliberately placed
clues and taunting letters. But why would some one do these horrible things? Tis a
question that has plagued many, who have attempted to understand, the mind of a serial
killers.
A serial killer by definition is "someone who attacks, slays/murder more than
three victims one by one, during a relativly short period of time in temporally unrelated
incidents (having no relations and or in a different location each time), which does have
some exceptions, as in the case of E. Kemper who killed his mother and her friend in the
same incident (thus not meeting the criteria of geographical seperation and and

Culture is made up of three main components: ethics, aesthetics, and religion (Lincoln 52). The lines of culture become skewed as it often blends in with political and religious views. In Western Europe during the time of the Reformation, the Church was the central ruler of the society. This meant that religion was not only a cultural view, but also a political one. As time moved on, the Church became less important, but today’s standards still connect religion to culture. This becomes an issue as individuals who are noticeably outside the culture in forms or religion are often judged and looked down upon (Lincoln 56). Due to this outcast it can cause anger to certain religions and culture which can often lead to these acts of violence. With the hate between cultures, religion becomes the justifiable mean on which violence can occur. Many individuals can state that God wants them to make their own religion superior, and one way they can draw attention to their religion is terrorism and other forms of violence. Due to this connection to culture, religion can not be separated into it’s own personal category, as it is forever affected by the changes and culture of the community (Lincoln 57). As time and culture progress, the religion of the community will either change with it, or fight the changes which will often cause conflict. On December 15, 1791, the Bill of Rights was ratified effective by Congress. These first ten amendments to the Constitution of the United States of America promised the states certain rights and freedoms which could not be infringed by the government. After all, the founding fathers knew from experience that men in their weakness were often tempted by power. They had become all too familiar with this when under the control of King George in England. Therefore, in order to protect the future people of their beautiful country, they promised certain liberties which could not be taken away. Every single one of these freedoms is important for the United States of America. However, the second amendment is especially important to our nation because it allows the people to protect their freedom and defend themselves and the common good against an overreaching government.
The Second Amendment states, “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” This statement basically means that people should be able to own guns for their own security and that right should not be taken away. The Second Amendment was added to the Constitution because the creators of the Constitution wanted to make sure that it protected basic rights, including the right to bear arms. It was also added to the Constitution because shortly after it was ratified, James Madison wanted to give more power to the state militia and to give more power to the people to give them the ability to fight back against the Federalists and the tyrannical government they were creating. After fighting off the British, the Second Amendment was created to give citizens the opportunity to fight back against controlling government and protect themselves with their own weapons.
Serial killers commonly attack a single target at a time one on one. There also tends to be no or very little relation between the person being killed and the killer (murder 1). “The nature of this drive has been heavily debated, but there is a consensus on some points (Anderson 1).” Many researchers have noted sexual behavior in the murder.
In the United States, there is a famous saying to justify gun ownership “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” It is true that the person with the gun is the one who is doing the killing but the gun makes it easier to have a massacre. However guns are useful for police, security, and military so they could protect themselves and everyone around them. Americans are not obsessed with guns; the American people are tired that their 2nd amendment rights are being violated. Police violate the citizen right to bare arm and will detain them. The sell of guns are being banned in some states, which makes it harder for citizen to own a gun. When someone chooses to carry a knife for protection the law will try to violate his or her right.

The Second Amendment is the most important document involving gun rights. The amendment was ratified to the Constitution in December of 1791. This amendment allowed citizens in the United States to own and use firearms. The Founding Fathers made this amendment infrangible, meaning that it could never be taken away from the people. “The Second Amendment forbids gun control laws is politically unacceptable to either the "conservatives" who believe that the government can constitutionally do whatever it wants,” says Peter D. Junger in his work. Junger explains that no matter how hard politicians try, they cannot take away the right to bear arms.
The novel, Heart of Darkness, by Joseph Conrad, is literally about Marlow’s journey into the Belgian Congo, but symbolically about the discovery of his heart and soul during his journey, only to find that it is consumed by darkness. He realizes that the man he admired and respected most, is really demonic and that he may be just like him. He is able to come to this realization however, before it takes the best of him.

Introduction: On the spectrum of criminal activity, serial killers are rather rare. Rarer still is a serial killer like Ted Bundy. Bundy confessed to killing 28 women in the 1970s in ghastly fashion and some believe he may have killed far more. It is hard to imagine what could cause any person to cross the mental boundary into such macabre behavior as Bundy perpetrated. Nevertheless, it is important to try to understand that behavior because only though such an understanding would society be able to identify and deter mass murderers in order to save lives.

Heart of Darkness talks about the problems with alienation and confusion as much as it does about imperialism. In the early 1900’s, the lifestyle in England veered towards the Victorian values.
