“The problems of poverty, racism, and prejudice are so deeply intertwined in this country that it is difficult to talk about one without referring to the others”( Hansen-Turton, & Mortell.2014 P.34). The United States is a world with unlimited resources. Yet, our great nation is full of social issues that don’t seem to go away with just “best practices” and intervention which has increase “poverty” within every walk of life. With the increase of social issue so does the increase of crime, unemployment, and poverty. The best practice for intervention takes place within the lives of the person living in poverty. Who can tell you best, about one’s situation than the person living in poverty? Making appointments for therapy groups, so that the in-poverty individual can address and help resolve one’s own problem. Case management approaches, Preventive services, Clinical intervention/therapies, and Educational initiatives are all great practices when it comes to the fight on poverty” the ways in which education helps reduce poverty, including increasing the earning potential of individuals”( Khan. 2015) All of this practices and/or elements are very useful when it comes to poverty or any social issues that has pledge our great nation, but we must find balance in how to stay on top of this issue and so many other issues that has become such a big political …show more content…

“It is suggested that U.S. politicians are not educated about poverty and that the government has historically failed to provide enough help with unemployment, health care, or other strategies to reduce poverty” (Patriquin.2011). In order to implement some of the best practices in order to fight the war on poverty I suggest the following:
1. Within any community we must take an active role by volunteering. Volunteering can be anything, from ones time, money, food, or even clothes.
2. Rely for an increase in wages, for all
3. Education- getting individuals back into school/ learn a trained
4. Have more food drives and programs within a given community
5. Look and Listen. One can learn a lot just by doing these simple steps.
There is really nothing new or unique about what is already taking place to fight the war on poverty or any social issue for that matters. With anything in life we do, it takes time and dedication from our communities to heal all
