As humans we have come to the point technologically where we could send messages to our relatives in a blink of an eye. Not only have we advanced technologically, but equally socially in a former fashion relevant to our advances.Although we have gone through drastic changes, one thing that hasn’t changed in our species was our desire for popularity, take our nations youth for example .It is natural for teenagers to reach a peak of popularity and back in the day this was done by going to football games and parties.,To bring it back to current times this could be achieved from the inside of a room through social media, where they gain Instafame through Instagram. Alice E .Marwick defines this term appropriately in her essay “Instafame:Luxury Selfies in the Attention Economy.” She defines Instafame, “As a variety of microcelebrity as it exists in a particular platform, Instagram.”(Marwick 138) These microcelebrity gain their audience from a niche part of the market of consumers looking to follow the lifestyle of normal celebrities.A good example of figures who have taken advantage of this market are of three users again, mentioned in Marwicks essay. These three users have attained their amount of followers from acquiring certain resources including but not limited to, copious amount of wealth,proximity to a real celebrity, and finally an All American Girl personae.Gaining the status of Instafamous is a very honorable achievement, but by gaining a hold of this status of Instafamous these three have developed problems of the self, and others through this vicious economy of the …show more content…

Mcwilliams explains that this use of this technology is reducing the effects of stress on our lives, and although this may be tempting to rid of, stress is a feeling that betters a human being. In this case using technology in the form of social media has especially weakened the response with stress of the Instafamous users being showered by positive comments of positive social report, comments usually posted as,”Damn your sexy!! ;)”again another comment found on Cayla Friesz comment section.
