In the novel Go Tell It On The Mountain by James Baldwin, Gabriel who is supposed to he this holy child, and growing up in a very religious household. The author uses repetition and imagery to reveal the theme that temptations can contradict with a person who is involved in Church, ultimately leads to a person having an inner conflict. The author James Baldwin uses repetition to reveal the inner conflict between Gabriel temptations and the Church values through his interactions with a female.
