The Mammoth Cave is made up of natural corridors in the forested hills of Kentucky. It is considered to be one of the biggest caves network on Earth. With ample dark corners and shadowed crevices is definitely the perfect place for a variety of hauntings. It has been the site of at least 150 different ghostly encounters. Visitors who’ve ventured into the dark corridors of the cave have reported a variety of phenomena ranging from odd noises to disembodied footsteps. Granted that a person’s mind can play tricks in the dark, it is still difficult to explain the different experiences mentioned by different individuals. Encounters with ghosts, unexplained sounds, mysterious lights, bizarre noises and footsteps are some of the activities that people are greeted with. Who are these ghosts? The missing body was discovered with the help of policemen with bloodhounds. It was wrapped in burlap bags and tossed under a bush along the river, with one of his legs missing. Nobody knew who had stolen the body or chopped off the leg. In the past few years, the Crystal Cave has been opened again to the public and the spelunkers who come here have reported different strange happenings. This includes stories from those who have not heard about Floyd or his death. Maybe, Floyd’s restless and troubled spirit is thought to be wandering around the cave. When a group of men were wandering around in the Crystal Cave, they noticed a whiskey bottle on a rock ledge. One of the men in the group took it, examined and then placed it in its original position. When they returned after exploring and passing by that same whiskey bottle, they heard a deep ‘clink’ sound. It was almost as if somebody had flicked the glass bottle with a finger. When they turned to look at the ledge where it was, the bottle suddenly fell down – or as one man reported, it looked as if it had been thrown down and smashed
