My Greek god is Hercules. I’m sure all of you know him from the movie created by Disney. We can all admit that he is one of the most famous gods out there. He is the god of war and he had many battle encounters throughout his lifetime. Hercules was a hero to the Roman people by performing a handful of deeds. He was also very popular for having a tremendous amount of strength and defeating many enemies. He is one of the greatest warriors in history.Hercules is the son of Zeus and Alcmene and was born in Thebes, Greece. When Hercules was younger he was somewhat clumsy and lost, he didn’t know how to control and deal with his powers. His eyes were blue and hair was dark brown.There are many myths about Hercules, a famous one is the first step of the twelve labors. He went out on an adventure and killed the fierce lion of Nemea. When battling the beast, he discovered that arrows were useless against the lion and he had to use something else. He grabbed his wooden club and started tracking it down. He followed it into a cave and trapped it. He came face to face with an animal that strikes fear into the hearts of many. Then, he wrestled the lion down to the ground and choked it to death.Another famous act that Hercules performed was going down into the underworld of the dead. When Hercules journeyed down there, he sought out to capture the 3-headed dog, Cerberus. Hercules had to complete the task without any weapons. Cerberus was supposed to let the dead in, but no one out. Hercules overpowered the beast and brought him up out of the underworld to the king, Eurypterus to complete the twelve labors.I hope we can all agree that Hercules was one of the most powerful gods in Greek history and could have easily beat anyone that stood in his way.
