Climate Change Reality In 1850, Glacier National Park had 150 glaciers. Now there are only 25 that remain large enough (at least 25 acres in area) to be considered functional glaciers. The park's glacially fed streams provide a constant flow of cold water throughout the summer season, maintaining necessary water levels and regulating stream temperature for fish and other species. Plants and animals throughout the park rely on this water flow. However, with the current global temperatures increasing, glaciers here and around the world are melting faster than ever. The first time global warming debate started heating up was in 1975 that is over 40 years ago. Since then we have just made the temperature of the atmosphere warmer by producing all this CO2. However, people on the other side of the debate say that this not warmest climax period in this last millennium but it could …show more content…

According to Proxy Climatic and Environmental Changes of the Past 1000 Years, at procon.org “A 2003 study by researchers at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics found that many records reveal that the 20th century is probably not the warmest nor a uniquely extreme climatic period of the last millennium.” Sure, but if people keep diving cars and wasting energy. That causes CO2 which is making the temperature rise faster. And according to “What’s the hottest Earth has been lately?, by climate.gov they say that “Throughout its 4.54-billion-year history, Earth has experienced multiple periods of temperatures hotter than today’s. But as far as the “recent” past, a study published in March 2013 concluded that global average temperature is now higher than it has been for most of the last 11,300 years.” This showing that humans have an impact on the recent global warming and that with this rising temperature it could cause a series of problems. More problems is the last thing the world
