The Influence of Roman Architecture to Modern Society

According to Napoleon Bonaparte, “The story of the world is the story of Rome”. Ancient Roman contributions in the modern word can still be seen in today’s civilization. The formation of the Roman constitution is greatly influenced and highly regarded by many countries like the United States of America. Christianity is also originated in Rome and spread through one continent to another. Most importantly, Romans influence in arts such as painting, mosaics, sculptures, and architectures have captivates attention of many people around the globe.

The Romans deeply valued and appreciated the foundation of the Ancient Greek Architects. In fact, Romans absorbed some aesthetic designed that surpassing by applying their own ways of doing things to suit the needs for easy and advance technology. Hence, Romans makes their designs more appealing to the public by enhancing every small detail in architectures. Clearly states that Romans had applied comprehensive methods and guidelines in constructing new architectures. Because of this impeccable mentality, the Romans architectures have flourished to the modern world. Many countries in the world have based their public structures such as basilicas, libraries, universities, monuments, courthouses, and more.

In order to understand how Roman architecture has influenced the modern world, we must first understand its history and innovations throughout the lifespan of its empire. Rome was an amazing technologically advanced culture that utilized science and engineering techniques to the extreme. They constantly strived to create better and stronger methods of construction with the idea of making their society a cleaner and safer place to thrive. They were able to expand throughout the known world and conquer every civilization they come to. We still utilized the advancements and innovations that Rome created centuries ago. We can thank Rome for things we experience every day in our modern life and Rome’s influence will affect the entire world forevermore.
