The leaders in all 3 industries came to the same conclusion - competition was wasteful and small-scale enterprises inefficient. New business methods were needed and formed. Competition was eliminated, rates were stabilized, costs were cut by optimizing operations, and standards were set so there could be contingency across their respected industries.
