As a student employee for Indiana University’s department of campus recreational sports, I have collaborated with professional staff of recreation to promote and inspire individuals, both students and faculty and staff members, across campus to lead healthy, active lifestyles and am dedicated to helping others recognized what recreation can offer them. Consequently, I am currently applying to the Recreation Administration program at the University of Mississippi Graduate School. Over the course of my undergraduate studies at the Indiana University Bloomington campus, I managed to complete my degree in Exercise Science within the School of Public Health with an overall GPA of 3.02 after overcoming a difficult transition from a small town high school to Big Ten college life. All of which make for an outstanding graduate student. My main objective in life to help individuals acknowledge the importance of a healthy lifestyle and provide an atmosphere that is custom to their individual needs. I developed an interest in recreation administration after working all four years of my undergraduate career in campus recreation. Attaining several different leadership positions within various campus recreation-programming areas has helped me develop skills in workplace management and conflict resolution. I have the ability to obtain knowledge quickly and apply it when relevant as well as offer relational customer service. Moreover, I have found working with others through leisure-service to be an area in which I excel and an environment that I feel most comfortable. Outside of the campus, I have volunteered as a student assistant coach for track and field at one of the local middle schools for the past three years. During the spring months, I work with the head coach and several other student coaches to develop and demonstrate an 8-week training
