The mother had some trouble with latching the infant on but did not have any issues with the correct positioning after teaching was provided. Each feeding was recorded and the mother did wake the infant before each feeding. On the first day the mother offered the breast every 2-3 hours and the infant ate for an adequate time on each breast. The infant seemed to be doing fine on the first day but not as well on the second day. On the second day the infant ate more frequently and was spending less time on each breast. He seemed unsatisfied after each feeding
I think this project was a great opportunity for me to learn how to educate and guide patient’s in making better nutritional decisions with the help of my using MyFitness Pal. I think MyFitness Pal is an excellent resource for any patient that is interested in improving their nutrition. Nutrition is often neglected by patient 's, therefore, as dental professionals it is important to use the latest technology to attract our patient’s to become more interested in their nutrition. The positive impact of this project has encouraged me to recommend using MyFitness Pal to my patient 's as a hands on activity to help correlate nutrition and the patient’s overall health. This project also allowed me to become aware of the poor food choices I made, which will help to benefit my patient’s that have a similar diet.

Since we have been learning about nutrition in class, our task was to record a food log. Nutrition requires a well-balanced diet containing nutrient and vitamins like amino acids and fatty acids. Over the past seven days I have been recording and have been looking very carefully at my intake of nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and fats. In our task, the objective was to record the basic foods we ate during the period of seven, but it did not require recording every single detail or our intake of food. Doing this food log was a pain and it was disturbing because I never wrote about what I ate like breakfast, lunch, dinner, or additional meals. I found this food log useful because it helped me learn what I can change in my intake of foods to make my diet healthy and to see what about my diet is affecting me from being healthy because I could affect me in the future.
I recorded my food intake for two seperate days during the week. I kept track of my food intake for Wednesday the 21st of March along with that Saturday, the 24th of March. There were a couple differences when comparing the two days after recording them and looking at my Meal Summary. I ate a variety of foods both days when looking through my Meal Summary. I ate plenty of protein and grains during those two days along with fruits. When looking at both Wednesday and Saturday I noticed that I ate more on a weekday rather than on a weekend day. I came to the conclusion that it is because I am much more busy during the week verse the weekend.

Nutrition and exercise are vital to maintain physical health. Proper nutrition is required by our body for energy, growth, maintenance, and repair (Grodner, Roth, & Walkingshw, 2012). Even the brain requires nutrients in order for a person to be intellectually healthy. Along with nutrition, exercise can be controlled by an individual. Exercise helps to strengthen bones and muscles, control weight, improves mental health and mood, reduces risk for cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes, and some cancers, and overall increases the chances of living longer (CDC). For this assignment, I kept a food journal by tracking what I ate and the amount of exercise on a daily basis on a food tracker for three weeks. The purpose of that was to analyze my diet and exercise in more depth in order to determine the amount of vitamins, minerals, fat, protein, carbohydrates, and calories I am eating daily.
