Whether it be talking about empowering women in the work place or empowering children to believe in themselves, everyone seems to need to be empowered these days. Let’s examine the word, explore it ’s origin and see if we can understand how it came to be a buzzword. 2 Merriam-Webster dictionary defines empower as follows, 1. To empower themselves people will try things such as mediation, taking responsibility, setting boundaries and finding a mentor. Empowering one’s self can lead to greater confidence, a better job and success.
