Is it important for being ethical in every action people take and practice in their life or they just do whatever they want without think of the consequence? In every action people tend to take, there are law stated to show a limitation for them, but people have their own human rights to lead them to having a personal freedom and liberty right. Jones stated that liberty rights for human beings appear in the absence of any responsibilities not to perform some desired activity and thus consist of an actions that is not prohibited from performing by one (Fagan, n.d.). People have their own right to do anything they want to achieve or having a personal freedom or liberty rights as long they are obey the law and regulation by following and absorbing
People always take a short term to let them free from a problem they faced. Is it ethical enough to show that they are free from the problems but then will affect others stakeholder. Integrity is defined as moral character and honesty which is a one of ethical principle (VisionCorp, 2011). Having a personal integrity in life which is means refuse to lie or stand for the moral value of honesty, as example, you doing a right thing without no one ever notice it (VisionCorp, 2011). The reason to have personal integrity is to lead people to be able in act in rational behavior (Askenash, 2011). As example, what will people say if student in a high school mostly tend to cheating in their exam, of course most will say cheating in exam is wrong, but in student view, they are not really tend to cheat, take it as no big deal and think everyone also did it, they make this to rationalize their behavior in this situation as they still can considered of being honest (Askenash,
Utilitarianism which is shows a moral principle that lead to morally right action to give a great balance of benefits to everyone (Velasquez et al, n.d.). This ethical action focusing on produce more benefits for everyone and somehow does not care about how they are producing it even by lies, manipulation or compulsion (Velasquez et al, n.d.). On the other hand, based on article titled Most Common Criticisms of Utilitarianism, people can’t only rely on this ethical theory because there are some difficulties to achieve what are they wanted, as an example it is impossible to apply by showing how can it be measured or quantified because “there is no way of calculating a trade-off between intensity and extent, or intensity and probability, or comparing happiness to suffering” (n.d.). Overall about this ethical theory is to show the consequences by the one who conduct a situation and how to balance the benefits that has been distributed to
