Recommended: Struggles of immigrants

Living in the west included hardships and sacrifices which makes our people surrender to the life that they have chosen from the start. Hardships makes us vulnerable for quitting and Sacrifices make our passion disappear without a trace, but there's no reason to quit. The life we lead is something that we have to continue thought as hard as it gets. The Immigrants should stay in the west because you have to follow through every decision you make. Miners found the way to put in the work to find the gold, even when they dug for no reason they found something that could be valuable which would drive them. Unfortunately, some of the miners would come along a slump and would head back east to try to fulfill the rest of their lives with something …show more content…

The farmer had to have a lot of practice because if a crop did not grow there goes money down the drain. The land for a farmer might be spacious but might of been found hard to be held on their budget. The scripture states “ That landmark piece of legislation provided 160 acres free to any family who lived on the land for five years and made improvements. The same amount could be obtained instantly for the paltry sum of $1.25 per acre… Combined with the completed transcontinental railroad, it was now possible for an easterner yearning for the open space of the West to make it happen. Unfortunately, the lives they found were fraught with hardship”(Farmer,1) The quote explains how it was hard for the farmers to hold their land. Many farmers sold their land and moved east where the could contain different jobs. Exodusters was a very hard job because on a low salary you need much supplies and you need a big start up fund so you can start it. Exodusters work many hours and had harsh labor and mainly owned by the whites. This job was explained in the writing “$500 for transportation and provisions, it estimated that each migrant would need a minimum of $1,000. This was a tremendous sum for southern blacks in 1875.”( Exodusters,2). If they can find the money to start it up this was an excellent money making job.
