Immigration is a difficult topic to discuss. Everyone has their own opinion on how immigration should be handled. In 2010, Arizona passed the Senate Bill 1070. This bill “requires police to determine the immigration status of someone arrested or detained when there is “reasonable suspicion” they are not in the U.S. legally” (ACLU, 2018). In my opinion, I feel that immigrants should go through the proper steps to becoming a legal citizen. I believe that after the individual has received their visa, they should have the same rights and benefits as a United States citizen. As long as they are in the United States. Thousands of illegal immigrants were forced to return to their countries. I admit that illegal immigration is a Federal Government crime, but SB 1070 is a discriminatory law against Hispanics. I believe Arizona’s Law SB 1070 should be forbidden because it only targets one specific type of illegal alien, those who are Hispanic, which promotes racism. First of all, the Arizona’s SB 1070 proposition was signed on April 23, 2010 by Jan Brewer. SB 1070 stands for “Support Our Law Enforcement and Neighborhoods Act”.
Arizona’s immigration law should be abolished because it creates racial profiling in society. This law is encouraging racism problem to increase because without this law our country already has to face with so many problems about racism. Come back to Arizona’s immigration law, I wonder how officer can stop each individual with the reasonable suspicions exits that someone is illegal immigrants. Will it base on people with color skin or people who cannot speak English? The answer should be yes, because the law allow officer can stop each individual just base on their perceptions. The local Government of Arizona recently decided to take control of the situation, by passing the “Support our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act” {House Bill 2162}. This bill gives law enforcement officers and agencies the authority, to lawfully stop, detain and arrest anyone who appears to look like an illegal alien. When I was a young, naive, and reckless preteen I was arrested for stealing panties. Yes, panties. You see, I was under the impression that attending junior high without proper matching undergarments would immediately be cause for ridicule from my fellow classmates in the locker room. However, my mother did not see the necessity for such things and refused to spend money on costly, unnecessary expenses. I desperately needed them and shoplifted a lovely red pair. I was caught, arrested, ashamed and gracefully served my sentence with a newfound respect for the law. No matter how severe or minute a crime is, it should not go unpunished. A teenager committing petty theft and an immigrant crossing our borders illegally are both crimes in the United States. There are millions of undocumented people that risk their lives by coming to the United States all to try and make a better life for themselves. These immigrants are categorized and thought upon as terrorist, rapists, and overall a threat to Americans. When in reality they are just as hard working as American citizens. This article presents different cases in which immigrants have struggled to try and improve their life in America. It overall reflects on the things that immigrants go through. Immigrants come to the United States with a purpose and that is to escape poverty. It’s not simply crossing the border and suddenly having a great life. These people lose their families and go years without seeing them all to try and provide for them. They risk getting caught and not surviving trying to make it to the other side. In America there is a serious epidemic that many people do not notice. As the majority walk through the streets freely, work for sufficient pay with safe work conditions, there are people who are silently suffering. A large number of the population don’t have equal rights specifically the right to drive. This part of the population is known as illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants should continue to have the right to get a license because they made sacrifices, already work in dismal conditions, and U.S. citizens waste the privilege.
America needs comprehensive health care reform, and immigrants should be a part of the movement. But many American citizens might ask that pertinent question: why should they cover the expense for illegal immigrants to access health care? The answer is plain and simple: until congress passes immigration laws that work, people are going to migrant here illegally. And to deny migrants access to affordable health care, Americans are not only denying them their human right, they are also putting individual and national health at risk. I believe that this country – which has the medical advancements and the facilities to ensure the health of its citizens – should reach out to its non-citizens, legal and illegal, until it passes laws that improve conditions, increase pay and thus prevent disease more effectively-- or until undocumented workers are prevented from residing here altogether.
Any immigrant who commits murder or other offense after coming to this country will be dismissed. Their legalization will never come. America is sometimes referred to as a "nation of immigrants" because of our largely open-door policy toward accepting foreigners pursuing their vision of the American Dream. Recently, there has been a clamor by some politicians and citizens toward creating a predominantly closed-door policy on immigration, arguing that immigrants "threaten" American life by creating unemployment by taking jobs from American workers, using much-needed social services, and encroaching on the "American way of life." While these arguments may seem valid to many, they are almost overwhelmingly false, and more than likely confused with the subject of illegal immigration. In fact, immigrants actually enhance American life by creating, not taking jobs, bolster social service funds through tax payments, and bring valuable technical knowledge and skills to our country. If we are to continue to excel as a nation, the traditionalists who fear an encroachment of foreign-born Americans must learn to accept that we achieved our greatness as a result of being "a nation of immigrants."

A topic crucial to the world today is illegal immigration. Illegal immigration is when people live in a country without permission from the government, nor have any legal documentation. As more and more illegal immigrants enter the United States, it either upsets some people, or others feel like they should just grant them ability to pursue life, liberty, and happiness because that is what the Constitution says. Some people feel that illegal immigrants should be protected by the same rights and laws as American citizens. On the other hand, many people believe that this is a horrible mistake. They feel that the rights of citizenship should be earned and not extended to people who haven broken the law just by being in the United States.

People from the united states are allowed to go and have a nice vacation in these places but yet those there have to cross a border and put their life at risk just to have a better life. Why do these people have to risk their lives in look for something better. The united states promises equality and this is what attracts others and its sad that they can’t come in legally without having to risk their lives. The ones that are here are working hard and most of them do no harm. Deportation should not be used on illegal immigrants.
Should illegal immigrants be granted the same educational privileges as citizens? There has always been controversy whether or not to give these type of student the same privileges as citizens or correct legal documented students the same privileges. This is a legal status issue dealing with educational privileges at the college level. These privileges are but not limited to, scholarships, federal financial help, in-state tuition, and acceptances to colleges. All these obstacles are most commonly presented after the 12th grade is completed.
Who is an immigrant? An immigrant is a person who has a citizenship in one country but enters another country to set up as a permanent resident. Sometimes countries are suffering greatly from lack of leadership, internal strife or war, and a collapsed economy. This is the case in Somalia, as well as in Syria, Libya, and Yemen. Syrian people are moving to Europe in order to find a peaceful home. Mexican immigrants come to the US looking for jobs. The people then move to new countries where they don’t speak the national language. In America, when the immigrants come, there are many difficulties: cultural differences regarding time and scheduling, transportation issues, and language difficulties.
