Many people have been persuaded to believe that being overweight is more of a major risk factor of death than being underweight. But, they are mistaken; believe it or not in reality being underweight puts you at a higher risk of death.

Do not misinterpret what I am trying to say. Both of these are serious health dilemmas we are facing today. They both can affect your health. Such as your energy levels and bone health. Excessive weight gain and loss can also negatively affect men and women's ability to procreate. Excess body weight is associated with reduced fertility for men. With women they can be diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. Polycystic ovary syndrome is a condition with insulin resistance; that means the insulations causes the testosterone to rise and to balance the body out it is forced to halt ovulation. Low body weight causes a woman to stop menstruating. This condition is known as amenorrhea. When men are undernourished and puny their sperm count decreases significantly. …show more content…

Overweight has been said to be deadlier because it involves deaths mostly involving your heart; which we all know is one of the most important organs in our body. Although, for people who are underweight they suffer from illnesses involving the whole body at once. Being overweight involves being diagnosed with illnesses such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Every time your heart beats it pumps blood through your arteries to the rest of your body. It is difficult for your body to do this with irregular blood pressure. Having a larger body size than usual can increase your blood pressure making your heart work faster and harder to pump blood to all of your
